Roswell, New Mexico

I'm gonna have to start a thread called "Where In the World Is Mocha?" :D

My company has scheduled me to be in Roswell, NM the week after next. From what I've researched, there doesn't seen to be a drop zone anywhere close to where I'll be. :( So here's a question for anyone who has ever been to the area; is there anything to do in Roswell that doesn’t involve alien anal probing? :D

But seriously, is there anything to do or am I stuck in the hotel watching reality television like, “Celebrity Bachelor Fear Factor for People Who Wants their Dad to Marry a Millionaire on Top of a Live Volcano?”:S

I'm not an alien but I DO support anal probing. :D

My condolences. :D

Seriously......I just spent 7 WONDERFUL weeks in Artesia, NM. About 30 miles south of there and even MORE desolate. Roswell was "The Big Hoppin Town" to go to. Not a whole HELL of a lot to do there really. As far as bars go.....Bud's is a pretty cool place. If you can two step. Cattleman's is a good place to eat. Stay the HELL AWAY from the bowling alley and the bar in it on weekend nights. High likely hood of gang related shootings there. No I'm not kidding. Generally....I would just stay OUT OF the South side of Roswell. If you have a car I would suggest going down to Carlsbad Caverns if you haven't seen them. It's kinda neat to see.....once.....:D Don't know if you like to gamble but there are casinos in "Ruidoso" (SP?) and a horse racing track. It's a touristy place with lots of shopping to be done there. The scenery over that way is actually quite pretty. They actually have mountains over there instead of the flat desert wasteland that is Roswell. Other than that.....NO there isn't a whole lot to do IN Roswell. Oh yeah....the Robert Goddard Museum....that wasn't bad either if you are into that sort of thing. I'll keep thinking.....maybe I'll come up with more.

Hmmm....tough decision; A potential bullet in the @$$ or viewing one Mother Natures beauties. Well, I have wanted to boost my workout routine and trying to out run a bullet would up my cardio requirement. Then again, the ride to altitude might be a bit uncomfortable with a bullet lodged in my right cheek. :D I’ll take you advise and stick to the Carlsbad Caverns! :D:P

Keep an eye out for Unidentified Flying Jumpships! :D

Hmm, wonder what a UFO would charge for altitude?

You really should go to the caverns, I went with my family when I was a baby and the pictures make it look like it was fun!

Yeah, I'm definitely going to try. I got an email telling me that their going to be sending a new hire out with me so I'll have to convince him to go too. I'll have to use my womanly charm or I could just let him know that the rental car’s in my name so he has no choice. :D

Oh yeah, I hear they are having the donkey show 5 nights a week now!!

I thought of the odds of me succeeding, versus the odds I was doing something incredibly stupid, and I went ahead anyway.

nothing, if you play your cards right. just drive out to the middle of the desert, put on your rig, and wait for an alien abduction. once you are on their ship, use their anal probe to break a window, then jump out. ;):D

Wow, crappy food, no fun, and the possibility of being shot. And to think, some of my co-workers were pissed cause they wanted this trip. [:/]

While it can be spotty......I thought the Prime Rib at Cattlemans was pretty good. I remembered one other thing that drove me NUTS there. Now....I don't mind Tejano music.....but when you hear it ALL the time. It starts to get old.....:D
