base698 20 #1 August 15, 2003 What is the name of this thing? I remember it starts with an A, but can't find how to spell it on the website.
EricaH 0 #2 August 15, 2003 Allouette (sp?) - great fun, huh? There is no can't. Only lack of knowledge or fear. Only you can fix your fear. PMS #227 (just like the TV show)

PhreeZone 20 #7 August 15, 2003 We had the Alloette and a Schorsky (sp) to jump from too. Two helos, 5 balloons, at one point 5 Super Otters (2 SDA, FrankenOtter, Hinkley, and an SDC one), a Skyvan, 2 Casa's the C130 and Mullins King Air. I think we were lacking in lift ability this year. Maybe because it was green they thought it was a huey?

freeflir29 0 #10 August 15, 2003 QuoteI think we were lacking in lift ability this year. I go there to make cool jumps with cool people. Not necessarily to jump a specific platform. Skydiving is about people....not really what plane you get out of. Moving to Ohio has made that VERY clear to me.
freeflir29 0 #11 August 15, 2003 QuoteMaybe because it was green they thought it was a huey? Well.....other than the fact that you can fit more people in a Huey....I think I would rather jump the Allouette. Sure gets to altitude a HELL of a lot faster than a D model Huey. Those things climb slower than a Cessna. If Rod isn't coming back they need to find someone with a Blackhawk or CH-47 Shithook! Either one of those would be awesome. With the Shithook you even get a tailgate!!!

LouDiamond 1 #13 August 15, 2003 They had the 58(jolly green giant, white actually) there and it saw lots of action the whole convention. A shit hook is slower than old people fucking getting to 10K with less than 20 people on board. Considering that they pack civilian skydivers on like sardines(even the C130) and you can bet the ride is even slower."It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING
