:D:$:D

Anyone who's met me in person can attest to it. There are pics of me all over DZ.com that show it. I'm so not posting any more pics. So....you'd have to meet me in person to see the curves. :P

Shelley, one of my best friends, and I will be in Vegas Sep. 7-11th so you'd have the opportunity to meet me then. (More about this trip coming later.)

I have never blamed it on the camera anyway...

I am not skinny. Matter of fact, compared to that photo, I am obese (and not the Wmd999 obese either).

But you know what? I spent years hating myself and my body because of what the media told me I should look like. I spent so many hours crying about how I would never be "beautiful" - leggy, model looking. When colored contacts came out, I got the blue ones for my brown eyes...that didn't work...so I got green ones. Those worked better, until I damaged my eyes wearing them non-stop for weeks on end. I grew up surrounded by an industry that had very strict standards as to what was "right" and "wrong" in terms of physical appearance. As a result, because of my body style and genetic heritage, I was never going to be one of the "pretty" people...and hated myself for the way I looked.

Know what? I still have body image problems. I often think I am fat and ugly. And compared to what the media displays, I actually, really am. But I am more than my body...I am me.

Do I get called a hottie? Nottie. Do I get asked out like all the other ladies at the DZ? Not at all (shit, I haven't had a date in many months...). Is it fun? No, can't say so.

But my value - and women's value - is not in their tits, or how small their waist is, or how skinny they are. The value of a woman is NOT in her body, and cannot be quantified by the size of her ass.

The value of people, men and women, is in their heart and soul. And last time I looked, I found few hearts and souls reside in asses.

Thanks for bringing this up, Sky. And good to hear most of you think that the bottom shown in that particular ad is not "too large"...

Ciels-
Michele

Hi Michele,

To be quite honest when I first married my ex. I was super thin! People look at my wedding pictures and are shocked at how skinny I was. My ex. used to put a great deal of pressure on me to be thin. He used to make comments like "don't ever let your ass get that big" etc. etc... Anyway, I'm about 30lbs heavier since I first married and I'm so much more comfortable with myself, opposed to then. I know that (for health reasons) I need to drop some weight, but I'm not a freak about being skinny anymore. I'm actually enjoying the fact that I can eat again!!!! :)

I've seen a couple with hearts and souls in their asses:P

I agree. Funniest thing is, I find these stick figures disgusting. Nothing good about ribs that stick out, arms the width of my fingers, protruding cheekbones, and tiny thin boobies with the nipple being the major highlight.

Skydiving is easy. All you have to do is relax while plummetting at 120 mph from 10,000' with nothing but some nylon and webbing to save you.

Even though I have gotten called a hottie on the internet, I don't get asked out at my dz either. Don't feel bad! :)

This society is an odd one. It is correct that a majority of Americans are overweight & should loose some excess fat for health reasons. However, we constantly have the media throwing pictures like this in our face. I'd love to have that woman's current ass - however, shed that "excess 10 lbs" & I think she'd be too thin.
In HS I fought to be thin, modeling only allows 18 g of fat & under 1100 calories/ day. I'd eat 1 candy bar & then veggies - once a week splurging on a burger or the like (but no candy that day:(). I don't remember being hungry, but that's prob how I survived it.
Currently I'm not 'fat' however I often feel obese & want to hide under big huge clothes but get yelled at for mentioning how I'm feeling; so I've resigned to saying I'm pleasantly rounded. I can eat what I want when I want & don't really have to work @ it. However, I do fit in that 'should lose 15+ lbs' category along w/ a large % of our population.

Just have to decide what to sacrifice, good/great tasty food or looking what the media considers fantastic. [shrug] guess if i could pick one & stick w/ it - life'd be much more pleasurable.

There is no can't. Only lack of knowledge or fear. Only you can fix your fear.
