sunnydee123 0 #1 August 18, 2003 Well I made the close to 9 hour drive to the Panhandle (Fort Walton Beach) to see some pals and then drove an extra hour to Emerald Coast Skydiving....It was a neat little (and I mean little) DZ flying a Porter. The people welcomed me with open arms. The 2 jumps I made, I was the only fun jumper - bunch of little Navy guys were making tandems so I got to talk "shit" the the instructors and camera guys on the climb to altitude to see how scared we could get them.... Wished I could have hung to make the beach jumps into the Flora-Bama bar but my whuffo friends were ROASTING in the heat so I tried to be appreciative of the 2 jumps they sat with me on and headed back to play at the beach with them . I got one picture of some of the gang - will share when I get developed.... Emerald Coast....just shows ya that small can still be fun Dreams become reality, one choice at a time... sunnydee123 0 #3 August 18, 2003 Yes, unfortunately but it was still fun - more often then not my first jump at a new place I go solo just to get aquainted with the "new air" ....but this was so small and the runway was grass that I was a bit concerned I wouldn't be able to spot it from the air.....big smiley face pee pit was EASY to see from the air so no worries there . Could have easily made a day of it - there were a few free fliers there that would have played with me but had to spread myself out fairly........... It was fun for sure!
