Jumpervint 0 #1 August 20, 2003 Tom Berenger was featured in the Parade magazine that comes with the Sunday paper this week. His list of credits did not include "Cutaway". What's up with that? Isn't he proud? Vint. . . . . "Make it hard again." CrazyIvan 0 #2 August 20, 2003 Maybe an omision, he WAS listed in the credits. Sometimes (for who knows what reason) actors are not credited, which sometimes is good, for example Emilio Esteves WASN'T credited for his role of Jack in Mission Impossible, that was smart, because it's a Tom Cruise's movie __________________________________________ Blue Skies and May the Force be with you. Guest #4 August 20, 2003 I noticed that too. However, Parade was doing a puff-piece on him, so as with others, they'll omit unremarkable or otherwise embarassing resume items as a courtesy. Don't knock Berenger - check him out in "At Play in the Fields of the Lord" - it'll blow you away. He wasn't an Oscar nominee for nothing. Please see also "Rough Riders". I had no idea that was Berenger, and I was absolutely floored! What an ACT! So there are reasons he's respected, but sometimes actors take on projects just for the sake of doing something offbeat, or to give something back. Tom's obviously been pretty fed up with Hollyweird for some time now, so he's been working for Ted Turner a lot, and doing indy projects. With all the stuff he did in the 80's and his modest lifestyle, Berenger is SFL (set for life), so he's no longer driven by ego or a paycheck, but by his craft. Another example of this attitude is Johnny Depp. "Cutaway" was not very good, to put it politely, but having an old pro like Berenger gave a boost to the project. And though I have nothing to back it up, I'm pretty sure that Manos talked with Tom about some of it - in short, it's because of Berenger that the picture didn't suck worse than it did. SkyAnt 0 #7 August 20, 2003 Funny you mention Tom Cruise. For some reason he never mentions his tour de force role in "All the Right Moves" "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." Edmund Burke (1729-1797)
mnischalke 0 #8 August 20, 2003 Ahhhh, what a movie--filmed in my home town. If you actually watch the background, you can probably understand why I don't live there anymore. Truth be told, I heard Cruise was a total asshole back then too... mike Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills--You know, like nunchuk skills, bow-hunting skills, computer-hacking skills.
