Student Loan Consolidation

If you haven't done it, do it. I'd been putting it off for the last year, and I finally moved on doing it.

My goodness! My monthly payments for all student loans will move from over $1,200 to around $550. For those of you paying student loans, that's a new PD Navigator (hey, I'm a newbie) in less than three months! And it only took a couple of hours total of work to get that accomplished.

Do yourselves a favor and move now, if you haven't.

I feel your pain brother. I doubled my time for AFF/AFP because of SL payments. Only 15 more years of eating noodles and rice!!!

I recently consolidated too. I was going to be paying about $400/month for 10 yrs. No I pay $210/ month for 20 yrs. It's a long payoff time but makes it much more manageable for now. Plus - I got a low fixed rate.

Consolidated 3 private and 3 federal into one private and one federal.

Increased the payoff from 20-25 years on private, and 15-20 on Federal, I believe. The federal loans had rates of 4.5, 6.5 and 6.5. Now I've got all three at 3.5 percent.

Man, why didn't I do that a year ago?

Given the current terrorism events, now that you have done so, why don't you request assistance in hacking the systems at these entities and pay off all the loans?
