kansasskydiver 0 #1 August 20, 2003 I had probably the worst skydiving dream I've ever had last night. I got unstable at deployment time and spent too much time trying to get onto my belly. like in Chronicles III, i deployed but didn't get enough out to save myself. The dream went on, then I woke up, in the dream that is, I was alone, unable to walk in pain, with no one taking care of me. I was alone in bed unable to do anything, in pain. i tried to get up and walk, felt all the bones in my body broken. It was a horrible dream, I woke up in pain scared shitless. I've had these dreams before, usually just me jumping and then i just barely get the canopy open, then i just walk away. I don't know, I haven't been the same all day. just been bothering me all day, stomache rolling and everything. sucks need vibes<--- See look, pink dolphins DO exist! Unstable 9 #4 August 20, 2003 Try wearing your parachute to bed with you. It might help you feel more secure. But then again, you may wake up after a bad dream with your reserve poped.=========Shaun ==========

Skyrose7 0 #9 August 20, 2003 I have skydiving mal dreams all the time, but I usually just land and walk away. I have had one where I was dying from a landing. That one left a sour feeling in my stomach as well. JuSt JuMp! That takes care of everything!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The mind is like a parachute--it works better when it is open. JUMP. txblondie 0 #11 August 20, 2003 Okay, so I'm already having bad dreams, and I'm only a student! I assume it's normal. They started after a bad AFF level 5 where I had really bad line twists and the canopy wouldn't open; took forever to get the twists out and the canopy open. I've been dreaming about it ever since, even though I made a jump like a week later with the same canopy, had line twists, and no problem getting out of them... I agree that a little air in your hair will clear your head!!! ***************************************** Blondes do have more fun!
Blahr 0 #12 August 20, 2003 Guess what? I stopped jumping for 8 years (not because of bad dreams) I continued to have the occasional skydiving dream every month or two the entire time. Sometimes cool, sometimes bad. Once this stuff gets into your soul, theres just no shaking it :-) Dont worry Kansas, I've had dreams like that before goin back more than 10 years and so far so good... I'm still here to post stupid crap on the forums
Unstable 9 #13 August 20, 2003 Thinking about it, these dreams would seem to be perfectly normal. Jumping out of aircraft is not a natural experience by any means, and as skydivers, we learn to deal with these natural fears by repitition. It would only seem normal to have an ourcry from your subconcious every once in a while. There is a jumper who posts on DZ.com who is a clinical psycologist. (i'm just remembering to past forums) it would be interesting to get his insight on these kinds of incidents. KansasSkydiver, i hope you feel better about this soon. Vibes from down the street. freeflygoddess 0 #16 August 20, 2003 Vibes to you...that sucks I know. I have skydiving dreams alot some good and some bad. After I watched a good friend of my ex-boyfriend's go in on a BASE jump, he lived but broke both legs. I had horriable dreams of it and me in his place. I have also had really bad dreams after I broke up with my boyfriend where I was jumping with him and was so sad that I didn't pull at all and I felt hitting the ground and then darkness afterwards. However, I still went to jump the next morning everytime and I felt much better and had better dreams the next week until I got back to the dz for the weekend and have bad dreams all over again. Not sure if it is me or staying in the bunkhouse that does it to me.
