lawrocket 3 #26 August 21, 2003 I understand that feeling. One month ago I packed up and left my old life behind to relocate somewhere else. I moved from the hustle and bustle of downtown Los Angeles to the more pastoral existence of Fresno. My family, my friends, my job - all would be different. Despite the melancholy of it all, I was never in my life as excited as that. I would be starting a new job in a new place with the opportunity to establish myself in a whole different place, while maintaining the relationships that some felt I had left behind. On top of that, a very special lady was the driving factor, so I suppose that helped a bit. So, all I can tell you is - my God! What an exciting time in your life!!!! What an unbelievebale opportunity for you!!! What incredible and wonderful moments await you upon your arrival. And, from everything I've seen, I can't imagine a person having a better support system than you'll have. In that respect, most people will never be as lucky as you. I know I won't. Or maybe, I already was. My wife is hotter than your wife.

Skyrose7 0 #28 August 21, 2003 I think you will be so proud of yourself when you get through all of this. That is a pretty amazing feat. I am only moving a little over an hour from where I grew up and I am a bit stressed. So, I wish you the best of luck. Fast 0 #36 August 21, 2003 I'm sure that everything will work out great for ya in cali, seems like there are lots of great people out there to help ya get going. When your walking around worrying about how fast everything seems to be going, just be confident that in no time at all things will have settled down and you will have a new daily routine, new friends (to add to those you have already), new stuff to do, oh and you don't have to deal with winter (lucky) All in all, safe travels, and have fun in cali!~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. skygal3 0 #37 August 21, 2003 It's not easy!! I moved as far away as is possible last month, and it was not easy! From one coast to another, I left my condo, my job, sold my car, my furniture..left all of my friends, my family, a kick ass DZ (that I miss terribly) But I knew that the change was right for me and that is what made it easier. One I got on the plane I was so relieved. There is a lot of hard work to do until you move, but the relief is worth it! (Of course, I was getting married at the time too, and while the thought of being with the man I love made it better, I was also leaving 'single independent girl' behind too.) Take a deep breath, make lots of lists, and take time for yourself in the process. I thought it be a lot harder to leave everyone behind, and while it is hard, there are so many ways to keep in touch. You will see everyone again, and think of the adventure you are about to begin, and everything that you will have to share with them! I love exploring new places. You have a great personality--don't even worry about meeting new people! All will be well. Keep a journal so that you never lose these feelings. You will enjoy looking back on this adventure! Good luck!
lawrocket 3 #38 August 21, 2003 I'll tell you, this new life is awesome! The life of domestic tranquility. I don't go out every night for dinner and beer with buddies. I don't drive a 60 mile roundtrip for work every day through traffic. I realize that many people run late not because of an unwillingness to work, but because of the pleasantness of being home with one you love. THere are things to miss, like no guy friends to hang out with. On top of that, I am not going to jump until I get my finances totally squared away, which may be several months. Life is not as fun as in Los Angeles. Sometimes, a new place, or even an old one, gives a series of small things that add up to happiness. Not as much fun, but a whole lot happier! Thanks, fast! by the way, I loved Wisconsin when I was there. Of course, it was in the summertime. My wife is hotter than your wife.
VanillaSkyGirl 6 #39 August 21, 2003 Cora, you will be only about a half hour or so away from me. Also, you are in between my parent's (and dog's) home and my apartment, so I can swing by and meet up with you, Michele and Lew whenever we can all coordinate our schedules. (I'd love to see Lew when she comes out!) Also, please let me know when you are moving in...we can have a "moving in" party! I will definitely help you unload your car and set up your new place. We can talk, unload and order in food. It will be great fun! Also, if you need to shop for more furniture, I will be there. Any questions that you may have, you have my number and you have Michele's. About the actual goodbyes...I am sure that your friends and family will come out to visit you soon, so do not worry. It will be very sad leaving your home, but you are making a new life for yourself! This is such an exciting time for you with so much change and interesting new possibilities! I know that you will make the most of it.
