PhillyKev 0 #1 January 31, 2003 Haven't driven my car in 3 weeks (walk to work and take cabs everywhere else) really only use it to visit my family and get to the dropzone. It was parked about a block away and I check on it once a week. Well, got a notice in the mail today that my car was impounded for parking in a no stopping zone. This no stopping zone is 2 blocks from my house and a block and a half from where my car was parked. No idea how it got there, or what condition it is in. The impound lot is closed so I can't even find out until tomorrow. What sucks is I just payed it off and was planning to sell it and buy a beater. I'm actually pretty calm about it right now, but I'm anxious to see if it was fucked up or not. This is whacked!

BoobieCootie 0 #3 January 31, 2003 I forget where the hell I park my car sometimes. Usually the morning after a night of heavy drinking. Sometimes I even wonder how the hell I got there in the first place. And each time, I'm just thankful I don't wake up next to ugly.
Tee 0 #4 January 31, 2003 I hope all is well when you pick it up. I went out one morning to get in my car and it wasn't in my parking stall. I looked down the block to see if it was there (as if it would have rolled away or something ) then I finally woke up enough to realize it was stolen! The police found it a couple of weeks later with 8 parking tickets on it. I guess they didn't think to check if it was stolen when they were writing the 2nd ticket. tee

Sebazz1 2 #6 January 31, 2003 That blows dude. Do you have insurance against theft? I had a car that was broken into and gutted long time ago. It's a horrible feeling. Good thing you are taking it calmly.
PhillyKev 0 #7 January 31, 2003 Well, got the car back. Wasn't stolen. The stupid ass parking authority relocated my car because they were shooting a movie on the street it was parked on. They relocated it to a no stopping zone. Then they ticketed it and towed it for being parked in a no stopping zone!!! What the fuck...and now I'm calling all over the world trying to get someone to put that in writing (3 people have already confirmed it verbally) so that I can appeal the $175 I had to pay to get it back. Not to mention a lost day of work.

PhillyKev 0 #10 January 31, 2003 No idea...it was relocated on the 23rd. The last I checked on it before that was the 17th. I never drive the damn thing. Only reason I haven't sold it yet is because I owed more than I could get for it, but just paid it off so I'm going to get rid of it. Hell, over the past month it's cost me $300 to own the damn thing between insurance and this fiasco and the last time I drove it, besides back from the impound lot, was on Christmas day. PhillyKev 0 #15 August 21, 2003 Yeah, that was fun. Me: I spoke to Officer McGinnis on 1/30 who told me that my car was relocated from Clinton St to the 500 block of S. 10th St. so they could film Hack. Hearing Examiner: That whole block is no parking. Me: Yeah, I know. That's why I wouldn't park there and that's why they ticketed and towed me after they moved it there. Hearing Examiner: Do you have any proof? Me: I asked the officer for a printout, she told me she didn't have any way to print it out and that it would be in your computer records. Hearing Examiner: Tell them that I requested the printout and they have to give it to you. Can't do anything without proof. I put a note in your file that if you bring that the tickets should be purged, but you'll have to file an appeal. ------------------- I go to the police station. Me: Can I have a printout of cars that were moved on 1/25 from Clinton St? I know you can't usually do that but the Hearing Examiner requested it. Officer: No problem, I can get that for you. Sorry, it looks like they purge the records after 6 months. You should have asked for this sooner. ---------------------- Next stop....city councilman. skycurlycat 0 #18 August 21, 2003 i know the feeling, had my car stolen 2 times!!! Got it back the first time after a long process of replacing everything on it, the body frame was fine, just everything inside/tires/etc were gone. After all that waiting around for 3 months or so, got it back and yep...25 days..i mean 25 friggin' days later...it got stolen again...ohhh I was pissed! They found it again, it was banged up and not worth fixing so got a nice fat check from insurance so I felt lil better but dang! lawrocket 3 #20 August 21, 2003 Man, one reason I'm glad I am not in downtown Los Angeles anymore is that I dont' have to fight the movies, commercials, etc. that are filmed there. Every time I'd see those commercials, I would realize that it was those things that were, in major part, responsible for my being late to work and not having access to the parking lot. I still see these commercials (like with some dude actiing liek he's swimming on the GD I-110) and realize that I was stuck trying to get around that mess (yes, on a Sunday morning, but I had work to do). I hate what those shows do. My wife is hotter than your wife.

PhillyKev 0 #22 August 22, 2003 they relocate cars all the time for street cleaning, snow removal, etc. They're supposed to put it within 2 blocks, which they did...they just put it in the no stopping zone. Freakin' retards.
