bat150 0 #1 August 22, 2003 I have recently been pondering the thought about a skydiving carrer? is there such a carrer or is it a great hobbie?
sunman 0 #2 August 22, 2003 Hell no it's not a real job. I get up in the morning and look forward to going to work. Does that sound like a real job to you? I get paid to jump out of an airplane and at the end of it all, I get to swoop. How can you call that a real job? I hope I never have a real job. airann 1 #5 August 23, 2003 Recently, I had a conversation with a rigger. I asked, How does it feel to think about you are packing a last ditch effort to save someones life? The reply was (good) riggers are trained such that this wouldnt happen. If there is a .999 % doubt of anything not being absolutely perfect, its coming out again. Id say thats a damn stressful job. ~AirAnn~

riggerrob 643 #7 August 23, 2003 Yup! Skydiving is a real job with long hours, low pay, unrealistic deadlines, no tips, little feedback, etc. Then there are the office politics! Hee! Hee!

Then it's a real job with long (but regular!) hours, low pay, unrealistic customers, no tips, little feedback... And selling gear you still get a paycheck when it's raining! Designer 0 #9 August 23, 2003 You bet there are real skydiving jobs. Most(with the exception of student training)are very hard.(time wise)You usually put more into something you love to do than your getting paid for!Pay for most jobs is non-existing.(very little pay)Of course there are people out there who don,t think, care or act like a reasonable person when they want something done for them.Thankless jobs most of them. The right people doing the right job makes all the difference!
