Ok...that was a good one

thanks :P

the only way we are going to agree about wmd is to give it some time. I have heard just this week that they had been exported, I also heard that SH hyped his own wmd program. Maybe thinking that it might hold us off. Now please what would you do if say Iran aimed a nuke at say Deland Florida? Ask the un to help? Take care of it ourselves. what would you do?

Or did you think we'd forgotten the rubbish you wrote back then?

you know some people have unrealistic expectation in regards to the amount of time it takes to find rather easy to hide objects. Just like some think it would take 90 days to "fix" Iraq.

as far as me being concerned about my credibility with you, i wouldn't lose a night sleep over it.

If Bush claimed that Iran was aiming nukes at the US, who would believe him? "No, this time we didn't screw the intelligence up, and I'm not lying this time either - they really really have WMD's. You'll see after our next invasion, unless they move them out of the country moments before we invade again."

>Ask the un to help? Take care of it ourselves. what would you do?

Hmm. I think I would choose the same solution we chose when the USSR was aiming nukes at us - deter them without killing millions. Would you choose WWIII?

Shouldn't we send another group in to invade? Time is exactly what we wanted to give the inspectors. The argument was made that we know where they are and the inspectors aren't doing their job. So now we want to give it time? After creating this mess?

Depends. Are you talking about an unsubstatiated rumor or gut feeling on the part of the Wolfowitz Cabal? Or do we have proof?

What I see as the general problem is that we are naming our goals, and then trying to find reasons to support that. Wolfowitz, Rumsfeld, Crystal, et al have been lobbying to invade Iraq since the early 90's. Now they're in power and they tried to spin the ambiguous evidence in their favor. On 9/12/01 Rumsfeld was pushing for an Iraq invasion before there was any rumor or hint of who was involved (other than Saudi nationals).

They're probably going to do the same exact thing with Iran. After all, it worked the first time, and will distract us from the mess in Iraq, just like Iraq distracted us from the mess in Afghanistan, just like Afghanistan distracted us from the mess at home.

>we had them to protect our troops from Iraq's WMD . . .

But . . . but . . . you said they had them so they could _launch_ WMD's! Surely that's the only reason to have them! Unless you're using a double standard, which I'd find hard to believe.

Good God, does anyone remember 1983-86??!! Iranian casualties estimated at about 21,000 DEAD. http://www.fas.org/nuke/guide/iraq/cw/program.htm>:(

Does anyone remember 1988 and 20 Kurdish towns and the estimated body counts were (since there was no official count)?! ..but I recall numbers between 100,000 to 250,000 DEAD.>:(

UNSCOM estimated that, under current circumstances, Iraq would be able to organize the production of chemical agents through reconfiguration or relocation of available dual-use material within several days or weeks.

:S
The executive leadership of the USA, from GW Bush, Clinton, GHW Bush et al, all saw assessments and publicly stated WMD and chemical weapons in more than half-a-dozen times a piece. Otherwise, Bush is lying, Clinton lied and Bush, Sr. lied. Which means that Iranian soldiers and Kurdish civilians didn't really die either.[:/]

Now, back to Uranium in Iran, as they bought most of their equipment from Russia, I don't doubt for one minute that particles would be found, as Russia and the former USSR relied on Nuclear programs, power, weapons heavily and we all know that safety and containment was secondary during its hey-day...
So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh
Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright
'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life
Make light!

Yep. We supported Iraq in that war, while the Iraqis were using chemical weapons against the Iranians. I also remember a UN report condemning their use of chemical weapons, followed by Rumsfeld meeting with Hussein's people to repoen friendly relations between the US and Iraq. We restored full diplomatic relations between the US and Iraq in 1984, and sold them chemical weapons precursors, helicopters and assisted them with military intelligence gathered on Iranian troop movements.

So it doesn't suprise me that they have NBC suits - they needed them during that war. I wouldn't be suprised if we sold them the suits.
