>Good God, does anyone remember 1983-86??!! Iranian casualties
> estimated at about 21,000 DEAD.
Yep. We supported Iraq in that war, while the Iraqis were using chemical weapons against the Iranians. I also remember a UN report condemning their use of chemical weapons, followed by Rumsfeld meeting with Hussein's people to repoen friendly relations between the US and Iraq. We restored full diplomatic relations between the US and Iraq in 1984, and sold them chemical weapons precursors, helicopters and assisted them with military intelligence gathered on Iranian troop movements.
So it doesn't suprise me that they have NBC suits - they needed them during that war. I wouldn't be suprised if we sold them the suits.

Good God, does anyone remember 1983-86??!! Iranian casualties estimated at about 21,000 DEAD. http://www.fas.org/nuke/guide/iraq/cw/program.htm
Does anyone remember 1988 and 20 Kurdish towns and the estimated body counts were (since there was no official count)?! ..but I recall numbers between 100,000 to 250,000 DEAD.
The executive leadership of the USA, from GW Bush, Clinton, GHW Bush et al, all saw assessments and publicly stated WMD and chemical weapons in more than half-a-dozen times a piece. Otherwise, Bush is lying, Clinton lied and Bush, Sr. lied. Which means that Iranian soldiers and Kurdish civilians didn't really die either.
Now, back to Uranium in Iran, as they bought most of their equipment from Russia, I don't doubt for one minute that particles would be found, as Russia and the former USSR relied on Nuclear programs, power, weapons heavily and we all know that safety and containment was secondary during its hey-day...
Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright
'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life
Make light!
