SkyAnt 0 #1 August 30, 2003 I stayed with some friends in Redwood City CA with some friends I made along the way when traveling across the USA back in the spring of '97. They seemed like real nice friendly people there. Anyone here ever lived there? Has it changed much? I remember some cool Pubs and night clubs. Is "Blue Chalk" Still there? It might be in Palo Alto actually? Whats the closest dropzone to that area? "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." rmsmith 1 #2 August 30, 2003 It's a great place if you make at least $150k/yr. Anything less and you're just another shit!
Gawain 0 #3 August 30, 2003 The Bay Area was really supercharged fast paced for a while there, 99-2000 etc. I used to live in Santa Clara and loved the whole area, from Santa Cruz on up through San Anselmo with Oakland and San Francisco in between. Things have slowed down a bit since then, and I can't remember ever meeting any overt a**holes there from Marin County to Santa Clara. Cost of living is still pretty high, but you can be in the same area and go a little further south (Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, San Jose) and still enjoy everything the Bay Area has to offer IMO.So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! dterrick 0 #4 August 30, 2003 QuoteIt might be in Palo Alto actually? Whats the closest dropzone to that area? Heya Tone! My sister lives in Belmont - 10 minutes North of Palo Alto. I live in the Great White North (Canada) and when I visit I trek to Hollister. It's about an hour South of PA. There's also Bay Area Skydiving (Marina, near Pebble Beach) as well as stuff to the North of San Fran. Look for Sebazz1 LizzieB, pop, bat150 and titaniumlegs as the chief instigators at Hollister (celljumper just moved away for school) - it's a GREAT place to visit ... they fly their Kingair to 18k on occasion and 15k otherwise and everybody smiles. The gang gets together in PA on Thursday nights for nig-noggery and it just continues throughout the weekend. Do try and hook up with those folks if you;re around the area. BTW, those who say it's friendly but expensive are right. -Dave Life is very short and there's no time for fussing and fighting my friend (Lennon/McCartney)
