lawrocket 3 #1 September 2, 2003 Does anybody else get nervous at this show. I've seen a couple of episodes and I actually rather enjoy it. I'll admit to being a "fashion emergency" at times. And it is neat to know what "zhooshing" hair is. However, my girlfriend really likes the show. A few times durign the last show, she looked over at me when they took the straight guy shopping and when they re-did his look. I know what she's thinking. She's thinking, "Maybe I should put him on this show. He sure could use some help." So I asked her, and she said, "Well, the thought has crossed my mind." She wouldn't actually do it, though. She says I've made great improvements over the last couple of months. Do any of you ever get this feeling from your SO's? Do any of them tell you about "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy?" What exactly is the motivation??? My wife is hotter than your wife.
CrazyIvan 0 #2 September 2, 2003 Women....that's typical, but don't worry that's their nature, I mean, women think that SOAP OPERAS are works of art and even thought that TITANIC was a GOOD movie, I mean, c'mon, you should know better. __________________________________________ Blue Skies and May the Force be with you. CanuckInUSA 0 #3 September 2, 2003 I don't understand the public's appeal to these virtual reality shows let alone this new wave of gay virtual reality shows. What's up people? Got no reality in your lives? Get out there and get a life will you. Now let's skydive ... Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Not to drege up an old topic(don't want to be this to be an annoying post) but does anyone else think that Big Brother and that "batchelor" show what ever the name is is even realistic at all? Don't we have enough drama in our own lives?I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun
betzilla 56 #6 September 2, 2003 I would LOVE to put my BF on that show . And I would love for those kooky queers to come redo our house, too. My sweetie could use the fashion advice, but our house is a PIT, and we need major help . But the thing that really hooks me to that show, is the sweet romantic stuff the straight guy always does for the girl -- maybe your GF just wants you to dress up a bit and cook her dinner. It's the thought behind it, not the transformation, ya know?
craichead 0 #7 September 2, 2003 I normally don't watch the "reality" shows, but Queer Eye for the Straight Guy is one of the few that I watch. I wouldn't really place it into the realm of reality shows, though--it fits in with all the other "redesigning" shows, whether it be someone's home, someone's wardrobe or both. It's more about the makeover than the drama. The five guys on QE are highly entertaining, and they really do have a lot of style and good tips for everybody. AndyMan and I watch the show, and we especially like the Food & Wine Connoisseur, the Design Doctor and the Grooming Guru. Andy already had (and still has) a lot of style, culture and awesome cooking skills before I met him, so he doesn't really need the help. The show is just an affirmation of what he's already done right! No wonder I fell for him so hard. freeflybella 0 #8 September 2, 2003 Right on! While it's fun to watch the (semi-homophobic) transformation from heterosexual to 'metro'sexual, for me, I just want them to fix up my apartment! Action expresses priority. - Mahatma Ghandi

AndyMan 7 #11 September 2, 2003 So... you think Queer Eye is a threat? Uh oh.... You probably don't want to read this article, then. It speaks to women who're threatened by "modern" men. I didn't think many men were being threatened. Guys learning how to cook, be self sufficient, and masters of their house are good things, IMHO. (master like a golf master, not like a slave master) I like it because every once in a while I learn something. I also really enjoy watching the guys screw up their cooking lesson... It's not a reality, show - btw. If it's a reality show, so is Bob Villas building show. _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
Blahr 0 #12 September 2, 2003 This is a funny show. I have no sense of style at all and frankly I'm happy that way. I dont have to worry about whats fashionable this year. I dont give a shit Those guys would be wasting their time with me. When I was a kid, my mom would dress me up, and 10 minutes later I'm running around the yard naked. I havent changed. Much. Well, I'm a little bit more modest now Also, I have better things to spend my money on than closets full of trendy clothing. Jeans and teeshirts. I was born in them. I'll die in them. And I'll be a happier, healthier person for not worrying about it
lawrocket 3 #13 September 2, 2003 Aw, heck no! I don't think it's a threat. I just thought it was funny seeing my girlfriend's reaction to the show. We both watch it and enjoy it. Kinda the same way we both watch American Chopper. I just thought it was funny how she was giving me the "is this giving you any ideas" look. It does. She'll actually let me dress myself every now and then! And reading that article, I noticed a huge error. NEVER EVER use scented candles at dinner. You don't want the smell of a candle interfering with the smell of the food. My wife is hotter than your wife.
Push 0 #14 September 2, 2003 I think I would enjoy that show more if I actually gave a crap I've tried letting female friends dress me up. Sure, it works out to a nice outfit, but other than that I did not notice any difference in my daily life from wearing slightly nicer clothes. Myself, I can find a girl in jeans and a t-shirt sexier than a girl in the best set of clothes because of differences in behaviour. If someone tried to make me over I would go along to the point where it becomes real work to keep up that image. Once it becomes work, it stops being innocent and starts being an attempt to change who I am. I let a female friend help me with designing my jumpsuit though, because we all know that looking sharp is half the battle in skydiving -- Toggle Whippin' Yahoo Skydiving is easy. All you have to do is relax while plummetting at 120 mph from 10,000' with nothing but some nylon and webbing to save you.
