Fast 0 #26 September 1, 2003 0:9:1 Had a great weekend, made quite a few jumps, got my 'A'. Jumped with indyz, had a nice long hopnpop from altitude, could see both milwaukee and chicago.~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. Stacy 0 #27 September 1, 2003 went on a trip to Key west this fine weekend. Multiple firsts that I paid up for in liquor and beer- somehow ended up in a clothing optional bar, learned a lot of history info when not drinking like vikings, and got al ittle present for chuckie. __
sunshine 2 #28 September 1, 2003 5 jumps. Who knows how much beer i owe. I had a fuckin awesome weekend. I went back to Skydive Greene County after not being there for a year. I hung out with old friends, and made some awesome new friends too. Had dinner one night with the DZOs. Attempted a birdman rodeo with my Pete. I think we might need to practice that one a bit more. Had a girls night out where we let the guys come along to be designated drivers. Hung out with Clay even though we never got to jump together. Got totally trashed a few nights. Made one of my "innocent" phone calls to wingnut. So much fun stuff happened i can't possibly remember it all right now. Pictures will be posted when they get developed though. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug!

Jib 0 #31 September 1, 2003 0:10:0 It would've been 11, but the tops went from 6k to 15k and the bottoms dropped from 3 with rain; so, I had a nice plane ride. On the other hand, a storm went through on Saturday, cleared out the haze and made a 13k sunset hop n pop perfect. Lurked a hybrid, got funneled, forgot about a point and someone else forgot the same point on the next jump and caught up in a sit to the HD group before me. jceman 1 #36 September 2, 2003 Quote0:3:4:0 Huh? Remember the format is humps:jumps:firsts. The first number is optional,it may be substitutedfor with some other number as long as an explanation is given. That said, my numbers forthe weekend are 0:1:0. We hope the jump nunbers will be better in weeks to come as we will be moving to Flalger Beach full time this Thursday and won't have to leave the DZ so early on Saturdays. Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money. Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them?

dterrick 0 #38 September 2, 2003 0:3:2 Quote1 altimeter possibly in need of a check-up. Yours too? My weekend was jam packed and I only made it to DZ for 24 hours, but what a 24 hours. Arriving at half-past beer light Saturday night I dodged a SERIOUS traffic violation (involving terminal Velocity and an RCMP without a radar lock on me). First case of Beer. Did my first 'real successful' hybrid 2 way with our resident septegenarian freeflyer. Exit went funky and I went headdown . SECOND case of beer. Clear and pull under a friend's PD 230 (in the above I was jumping my Raven 220 ...400 ft from toss to control check +/- 1 foot) ... brought my inflight audio (MP3 player ... gotta love em) and grooved to some Brecker Brothers doing little sashays and dives in time to the tunes and admiring the fall harvest colours- That PD so kicks the Raven's ass as a main on opening (when you have time) and landing... No case for this one... did this once last year. Highly recommend the experience. Sunst hop n pop load left early so we got 9500. Inflight dirt dove a 2 way wagonwheel exit & recovery, pin 360's / sunset star with a buddy I haven't jumped with in several months. It went so according to plan except I lost one ankle grip and we got into a 2 axis spin and held it for shits and giggles. Stared at the sunset after some pin 360's. Won the hit n chug accuracy competition with 8 metres and 21 seconds from touchdown to beer-downed. Life is good again. What a memorable 2nd skybirthay. I needed a day like that. -Dave Life is very short and there's no time for fussing and fighting my friend (Lennon/McCartney)
skymama 37 #39 September 2, 2003 4 soccer games watched:2:1 I spent the weekend at my son's first travel tournament on his new socer team. They had only had 3 practices together and still made it to the semi-finals. We had some proud parents on the sidelines Sunday afternoon. Today I got in 2 jumps and decided to stop jumping when I saw 3 cells of one jumper's canopy collapse in the gusty winds (he pulled out of it). I finally did my 300th on a 3-way freefly jump (and yes I bought beer.) Say what you will about Deland being a team-training dropzone or too clicky. I just know that my friends, Chris and Paxton made sure I had someone to jump with and gave me video, Steve announced it on the manifest microphone, dzo Bob and GM, Mike, came and congratulated me and gave me hugs, as did all the other friends there that I know. Is it an unfriendly dz? Not in my book. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
