Weekend Numbers: 8/30-9/1

Recommended Posts

Figured I'd start this since I'm done for the weekend! (I have to work tomorrow, no Labor Day fun for me).

1:5:0

1 altimeter possibly in need of a check-up.

5 jumps (one 7-way, three 12ish-ways, one 16-way, all Oren loads)

0 beer owed.

I did get measured for a new michigan suit though, just gotta figure out colors! Watched some good and not-so-good-but-funny swoops too. It was a nice lazy weekend! :)
How 'bout you?

1 (kick ass Texas A&M football game):8:0

Watched the game on TV at the DZ, kick ass, wish I could have been there. Did 4 tandems on Saturday before the wind got too high for my comfort as a newbie TM, did some sweet cloud-surfing alitude clear&pull loads on Friday, though (sport rig).

Sunday SUCKED, it rained all day, it was raining when I woke up and its still raining now.

The weekend was overall a very good one for me personally, though. Since the new girl I'm seeing (since mid-week) and I are doing very well (to say the least.)B|B|

Wouldn't you like to know...not telling if I have or haven't. Here's something that's funny, though. Her roommate is one of our student jumpers, she (the roommate) introduced us a week ago. Anyways, on Thursday Morgan (the girl I'm seeing) and Jenn (student jumper) came over to hang out. Morgan and I hit it off really well and so did Jenn and my roommate Bill. So now Bill is seeing Jenn and I'm seeing Morgan. This would actually be a good premise for a freak'n sitcom. :P

6 jumps 5 on saturday and 1 on sunday.
5 on Sat were all HnP for an accuracy comp.
Sunday I only did one jump due to being reallytied from the post comp partying followed by a 2.5 hours drive to my home DZ:(
You are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky)

How's yours doing?

0:4:0.

A fun 3 way drill, a 4 way with some very low timers (in fact, I enjoyed it so much I've decided to get my Coach so I can do legit), a challenging 4 way with lots of piece moves, and Dumpster's 200th. All in all, a good weekend.

Kick ass dude! You'll have fun. Besure to get an IRM and read up on it before you go to a course. There's also a pre-req card you have to fill out, that takes some time to get done, before you go to a course. Keep us updated on your progress.

5 good jumps....The Caravan left for the weekend.. so its back to being a C-182 DZ... but I did find a good way to stay in practice for going out as a late diver for big ways.... I know all of our TM fairly well and whenever there was a solo tandem in the Cessna to 12k... I spotted them a few seconds then dove down to the tandem... did a few tricks for the student.... then tracked off.. good practice and one guy was so stoked he was adrenalin rushing all over the place when we all got down to the ground... I think he wants to do the SL class next week:P

9 jumps from said Caravan, and the beer for my first jumps from one. We had 55 jumpers register for our Stevensville Smoke Out boogie. One formation load with the Caravan and our turbine 207 on Saturday set a dz record 21 way. Big fun was had by all.

Called Sunshine the other day to ask if she was going to be at SDC this weekend. Nope.....she was going to Green County. SWEET.....half the drive. Made it down there by about 830 PM after work on Saturday. Went out to dinner with a bunch of people and then proceeded to commence with some right decent nig noggery. I did pretty well....especially since by the time I went to bed I had been awake for 23 hours and consumed enough beer to kill the average man. B| Finally drug my ass out of bed around 1130 AM Sunday. Got manifested for the Casa. Rode up to about 6K.....before we descended to 3800Ft to exit BELOW the clouds. [:/] Free flew the exit for a 2 way head down......chicken shit Wrong Way left WAY too early. We had PLENTY of time....:D The ceiling continued to drop for the rest of the day so the beer light came on early. Spent Sunday night catching up on the latest with a friend I hadn't seen in about 2 or 3 years. Woke up to 300ft ceilings and mass rain today. Finally packed it in about 1130 for the drive home. In spite of the weather and lack of jumping I had a damn good weekend. Met several really cool new people as well. I'll be looking forward to my next visit to SGC!
