prepheckt 0 #3 September 5, 2003 Quoteno USPA left in a few years Would that be a bad thing? Maybe USPA will morph into something that can better represent jumpers and their interests. Hell if I could just pay for my subcription of Parachutist and license/award fees, I'd be happy. Maybe that's being a little naive about the whole subject, but USPA rarely affects me on a personal level."Dancing Argentine Tango is like doing calculus with your feet." -9 toes

pilotdave 0 #6 September 5, 2003 The USPA is smart enough to realize the group members program is all about the insurance. Most DZs require us to be USPA members because they provide insurance. This isn't news. The USPA better be smart enough to continue the insurance coverage one way or another if they want to stay in bidness. I agree with what some others have said... if money's a problem, stop printing Parachutist. I'm sure they could save tons of money by putting it online. It's a whole lot less convenient that way, but if they can use the saved money to insure us, then who cares? I'm not a USPA member for the magazine. I'm a member for the insurance. RevJim 0 #7 September 5, 2003 QuoteQuoteno USPA left in a few years Would that be a bad thing? Picture no advisory group (which is essentially what the USPA is) setting guidelines. A student goes in somewhere.....anywhere. The family sees a lack of standards, sues, and wants regulation. With no USPA to fight it, the FAA takes over with rules and reg. Rules and reg, I might add, thought up by whuffos. As broken as the system might be, we need the USPA.It's your life, live it! Luminous 0 #8 September 5, 2003 Quotenot a USPA member for the magazine. I'm a member for the insurance. Yup. And what about the museum. Forget that and save some bucks too. Just a thought. But I have so few I had to share. 'In an insane society a sane person seems insane.' Mr. Spock

But I have so few I had to share. There are ways to eliminate costs even if you want to kep the museum. Construction costs vary immensely depending on the type of construction that you choose. Personally, I like the idea of a museum. The cost is not a very tasty morsel, but construction can be broken up into phases, allowing for a larger structure later.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun
