Getting to Perris?

Recommended Posts

I'm going to Perris for POPS in October. I'll be flying commercially to CA (from Chicago). Which commercial airport is most convenient? Is there a bus or will I need to rent a car? Any other tips?

Ontario, by far. Took me 3 hours to get to LAX from Perris during a weekday. I was flying from there to Vegas. Between the time at the airport and the drive, etc, it would have been faster for me to drive to Vegas.

Passed Ontario less than a quarter of the way there to LA from Perris.

Look into booking your flight into ONT.

It's usually a bit less expensive and is a hell of a lot easier to deal with the traffic issues.

If you ask around really nice, you may be able to con somebody at Perris to drive you, but a rental car wouldn't be a bad way to go either.

As far as I know, bus or any public transportation is nil.

Definitely ONT!! I've found it to be more expensive than flying out of LAX but it's so much easier to get in and out of... and it's only about an hour's drive from Perris even on a bad traffic day.

If you plan to leave the dz at all while you're there a rental car is a great idea. Perris is a great dz, but the location isn't prime for a quick walk to the store. Especially after dark.

John,
I'll be there. Not sure at this time if I'm flying out with Seabury, or doing the commercial flight thing. I'll know in about a week if I have to get airline tickets. Let me know when you are arriving, and we can arrive about the same time if I'm doing a commercial flight.
My parents live close by, and most times get me at the airport. You are welcome to catch a ride with me to the DZ. I have found that there are enough people hanging out, that you can find a ride to anywhere near the DZ.
Now again, all this depends on Seabury. I'll keep you posted.
