TriGirl 336 #2 September 7, 2011 Not sure about the W8, but my W12 fits my Storm 170 (snug fit) with a PD 160 reserve.See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump!
likestojump 3 #3 September 7, 2011 I have had a W8 with a Katana150 in it. Firm fit, but works. My guess is that the Silhouette170 will be very firm, but not impossible. Definitely not a combo I would want to have for a long time, but should be acceptable for a short transition period.
irishrigger 32 #4 September 7, 2011 thanks for the info and help. sounds like it be a very tight fit,so maybe not the best option cheers
spootch 0 #5 September 8, 2011 w 8 fits a 120-135 reserve, 150 tempo tight. and up to a 135 main. I've had good luck going down on canopy sizes with wings but not much going up (mains) . As mentioned before a 170 would be fiddle string tight.
SRI85 0 #6 September 8, 2011 my safire 2 149 was a pretty tight fit in my W8. i dont think a 170 would be a good idea.

If you want to suffer packing it. You may may get the 170 in but, the container will not looks good as the closing loop will have to be longer and, can permanently damage the container!.
