Gawain 0 #26 September 7, 2003 Quote***The Latino vote is less than 15% of the constituency and less than 8% of the electorate. Geeze, I'm thinking more like 32% of the total population of California, but maybe you got your numbers from a different place than I did. According to the Secretary of State and Smartvoter.org (www.ss.ca.gov and http://www.smartvoter.org/2002/11/05/ca/state/state_executive.html), 3,394,917 votes were cast for Davis (3,039,021 Simon) or 3,533,490 to 3,169,801 (according to revised statements). I can't find the statistic, but this is an informed estimate, about 550,000 of the votes were latino (legal and assuming they all voted for Davis which would fall within the margin of error for all we know). That's 16.19% or 15.57%, that's constituents and that represents about 8.59% or 8.08% of the total voter base. Let's not forget the impact on the "Motor Voter" program the DMV administers... oi ve...So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! bobsled92 0 #29 September 7, 2003 QuoteYes, but he had said, QuoteThe Latino vote is less than 15% of the constituency and less than 8% of the electorate. Which is clearly understating both the constituency and actual voter turnout. Facts, people. Facts. Please back up your statements with them. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> many, many years ago, before my time, the politcal ploy for votes in New York were sought by getting people to leave Puerto Rico & come to sunny (20 below zero) New YorkHe got his votes and they got stuck here. Many of my friends now save up all year to go back and visit their Grand parents and some parents they moved back, each year. I like your accuracy. It exposes a failed plan/voting scheme that is under way._______________________________ If I could be a Super Hero, I chose to be: "GRANT-A-CLAUS". and work 365 days a Year. http://www.hangout.no/speednews/

TheBachelor 5 #32 September 8, 2003 Yep, Davis has vetoed this bill twice, but now that he needs every vote he can get in the recall, he's signing it. What scum. Another of the latest suck-ups by Davis was to let the indians name their people to 2 of the 5 positions on the board that regulates indian gaming. Do you think there's any coincidence that the indians have given Davis MILLIONS? No, me neither. What a scumbag. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
