firediver 0 #6 September 11, 2003 ok, quick sermon by someone who was there..... Don't let the press coverage get you down today. We do what we do in this job (both of mine I guess) so that everyone else can live their lives with a peace of mind. This next statement is a controvertial one, but here it is...There are no hero's wearing a badge, just people doing the job they get paid, and love, to do, If something bad happensto us, it happens, we try to avoid it, but it happens to one or more of us about every two or three days. That's just part of the job. Remember what happened that day, be aware of what you need to do if something else happens, but let today be like the rest, just pause a minute and move on. Me? I'm jumping today...hell, it'll make me 12,000 feet closer to a few of my buddies for a little while. Blue Skies Skydiving isn't scary;...but clowns...CLOWNS are scary! ltdiver 3 #9 September 11, 2003 Last year Sept 11 found alot of us at SDC for our U.S. Nationals. I woke before sunrise and spent the early morning at their pond, thinking and remembering where we all were last year on this date. The sunrise was spectacular, like God was sending a quiet blessing down to the healing souls. I went out to see the sunrise again this morning, coffee in hand...and remembered again what we all mean to each other and how blessed we are to be here and sending love to each other each and every day. Love to all.... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

MC208B 0 #13 September 11, 2003 Hmmmmm..............I wonder how a building can be designed to withstand the impact of a 500,000 pound aircraft traveling close to 450 kts containing over 100,000 pounds of Jet A? What's your plan Designer?. To the 3,000 innocents that died two years ago, rest in peace. To the "religion of peace" pilots, no not pilots, drivers, and their helpers, I hope that you are burning in hell for all eternity.
PhillyKev 0 #14 September 11, 2003 The thing is they actually did design it to withstand the impact of a 500,000 pound aircraft traveling close to 450 kts. And it actually did. The Jet A was the problem.
MC208B 0 #15 September 11, 2003 Actually, it was designed to withstand the impact of a Boeing 707 flying at approach speed and not carrying much fuel.
MC208B 0 #16 September 11, 2003 Sorry about getting off topic on this post, no need to argue about this or that. I am remembering the people that lost their lives two years ago and am very proud of the way we as Americans rose to the occasion. God bless them all.
