Icon I3 and R-Max 138

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have first hand experience on whether an R-Max 138 will fit suitably in an Icon Pro I3?

I've emailed both Aerodyne and Precision Aerodynamics (the latter a few days ago, Aerodyne a while back I think) and I'm waiting on a reply still, so thought I'd ask here.

I recall reading a post on this forum about how surprisingly small the pack volume of the R-Max was, some people have said an Op.143 is a tight fit in the I3, so maybe the R-Max will fit.

It will be paired up with a Pilot 132.

If anyone knows, letting me know would be appreciated

Thanks.

A bit more reading up I found that:

The min/max pack volumes for an I3 are 275-333 for the reserve, and 340-368 for the main.

The pilot 132 is at the upper end of the main.
An R-Max 138 has a volume of 318 according to its tech specs. Given that that volume is well within the range specified on the Icon container tech specs, it should fit... yes?

Or am I making a dumb assumption here?

Now got the 138 and despite what I was informed by Aerodyne, it is a very tight fit. Too tight for my liking, so I now have an R-Max 138 to sell on if anyone is interested!!!
