vonSanta 0 #1 September 11, 2003 Agh, haven't been out since Saturday. Started and completed AFF in June and have been at the DZ when the weather has allowed (and days when it hasn't, too). Managed to get 46 jumps this summer - I considered that 'pretty much' as a whuffo. Now I know it's nothing, but I doubt any number will be enough. I've noticed that I seem to suffer from testosterone poisoning since I started skydiving. Or at least the days when I am not skydiving. Odd changes to behaviour and mind - I wonder if I am alone. There seems to be a big 'YAAAAAARRRGH WOOHOOOO' stuck in my throat that I cannot let out or escape from. It's like being a teenager again - I get impulses to do weird things (no, not sexual in nature - yet. Riding on the roofs of cars is fun once more and doesn't seem stupid. 'Fertile crescent' and 'Generator' by Bad Religion are running in a loop inside my head. I have to fight a desire to either be too forthcoming and nice or be an utter arsehole. Yelling, especially at people, appears appealing. If I get them to yell back, so much better. Agh. A former girlfriend said 'skydiving is a drug, dude'. Thought 'such a silly comment', but now I dunno. 2 gigs of skydiving movies and the dl's are still in progress. Geesh. Anyone else get weird when they don't get to skydive? I *cannot* and *may not* be alone. Pliiiis. Santa Von GrossenArsch I only come in one flavour ohwaitthatcanbemisunderst

People are willing to change their lifestyle and relationships for it. It's a drug in the same way that crack, communal living, and Alcoholics Anonymous are. More productive than some, less productive than others. But yeah. I just hauled out some early 1990's magazines; they're a lot more interesting now than they were when I was in my layoff from jumping... vonSanta 0 #5 September 11, 2003 Ah, so I'm basically f@rked? Gonna be like this for the rest of my life? I didn't sign THAT waiver! wmw99, the relationship thing is true enough. Was sorta almost possibly maybe in love with this girl I met in March. Saw her some, but not any longer. Shift in priorities maybe? Zenister 0 #7 September 11, 2003 its not testosterone overload, although that might be the way it manifests it self for you, ita lack of oxygen.. i've observed it in several skydivers I was living with and had it pointed out in me on occasion as well...sometimes other activities can mask the symptoms, but once your hooked your fucked.... welcome to the disease..____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. CanuckInUSA 0 #8 September 11, 2003 I met a girl in a Denver bar back in January and started dating her. I think she liked the idea of dating a bad-boy skydiver. But despite warning her, she really didn't know what it meant to date a skydiver until she started dating a skydiver. I would spend time with at night, but she wanted me to go roller blading with her on weekends, and of course I had to be at the DZ. So the relationship ended in late March or early April (I can't remember, I was too busy jumping). Oh, I know some people have been hurt worse, but I got the skydiving bug pretty bad making 330 jumps in my first year in the sport. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
