Even more homework help...

More help for the computer challenged.

Ash has also got to collect quotes from famous people for her Honors English class, and since so many of you come up with some great quotes from all over I thought I'd enlist your help. If you'd be so kind and forward some of your favorites that would really get her on the Dr's good side. (Yes, she had a Dr who also teaches at the local college for Honors English. B|)

A google search for "famous quotes" yields the following webpages:

http://www.cs.virginia.edu/~robins/quotes.html
http://www.quotationspage.com/
http://www.quoteland.com/
http://www.famous-quotations.com/

Interestingly enough, www.quotes.com ended up being crap (hence no clicky).

Enjoy.

..And so my fellow Americans ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country. My fellow citizens of the world ask not what America will do for you, but together we can do for the freedom of man.

In the long history of the world only a few generations have been granted the roll of defending freedom in it's of hour of maximum danger. I do not shrink from this responsibility, I welcome it.

"I have come to the frightening conclusion that I am the decisive element. It is my personal approach that creates the climate. It is my daily mood that makes the weather. I possess tremendous power to make life miserable or joyous. I can be a tool of torture or an instrument of inspiration, I can humiliate or humor, hurt or heal. In all situations, it is my response that decides whether a crisis is escalated or de-escalated, and a person is humanized or de-humanized. If we treat people as they are, we make them worse. If we treat people as they ought to be, we help them become what they are capable of becoming." Goethe

I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the community, and as long a I live, it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can.I want to be throughly used up when I die, for the harder I work, the more I live. Life is no 'brief candle' to me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for a moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations.
-George Bernard Shaw

We cannot live onlt for ourselves. A thousand fibers connect us with our fellow men; and among those fibers, as sympathetic threads, our actions run as causes, and they come back to us as effects.
