FliegendeWolf 0 #1 September 18, 2003 Has this been posted about yet? I just flipped on the TV, which happened to be tuned to an episode of Real TV involving a couple of skydivers jumping from a hot air balloon. The commentary was absolutely ridiculous: Watch and experience what the jumper sees through his helmet mounted camera. He backs off leading him off balance which sends him every which way (on screen, jumper does one backloop and is back-to-earth, looking at balloon). This daring diver's leg causes him to flip again, but he is able to safely recover from his out-of-control freefall and lands safely...to do it again. The commentary was so over-the-top compared with the ordinary dive that took place, but I guess that's why they call 'em Whuffos!A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All

lawrocket 3 #3 September 18, 2003 Yeah, I saw that one last night. I actually didn't think it was too bad. It certainly wasn't one of those disgrace to skydiver threads. I alo saw a show last night called "Now See This" that showed some footage I'd never seen before. It was apparently a skydiver in Columbia, I believe, on his fourth jump. He appeared to deploy into a line over or something. He then popped his reserve without cutting away, leading to a main/reserve entanglement. Video followed him all the way down. They got to him and he was conscious, though apparently with a broken back. The narration was pretty good, and explained that he should have cut away his main before deploying reserve. My wife is hotter than your wife.
