Viking 0 #5 September 22, 2003 ok sorry about the lack of details, Yesterday at around 3pm my brother took grandma to the hospital with a slight fever, chills and redness in her right leg. She has had Sepsis twice now so he knew to jump on it quick before it could spread and threaten her life. I got 4 calls in the space of an hour while i was at work from both my mom and brother, which needless to say scared the shit out of me b/c before i left to go to work grandma was conplaining of being cold even though it was in the high 70's outside. Long story short so i can get back to the ICU is that she has a UTI and a mild infection in her leg. They gave her Levaquin, and Vancamiacin(sp) b/c she is highly alergic to penicilin based antibiotics. When she convinced me to go home and get some sleep they have her on a Dopamine drip to help her rest. Mom is flying out tonight to help monitor the situation. Viking 0 #13 September 23, 2003 Ok everything is starting to look better. Her bp is almost back up to normal lvl, but her leg is still a little red. Mom thought it wasn't bad enough for her to stay in the ICU over night.
