vonSanta 0 #1 September 23, 2003 Posted about it once before but my skydiving related dreams now have a recurrent theme: 1) I'm always in someone else's space (or they're in mine) come pull time. No matter how hard and where I track, there's at least on bugger right next to me 2) Openings just prior to hitting the ground. Dream stops (or I cannot remember more) just before full deployment of canopy. I'm pretty sure I'd be alright, but not definitely so. It could be worries about colliding with others during deployment and not having a chute over my head/low pulls. Could be something else? Any hints? Girlfalldown 0 #2 September 23, 2003 I have them too. In mine it's always someone different (sometimes it's me) under a spinning malfunction and for some reason can't get to the reserve. Casch 0 #3 September 23, 2003 I recently had a dream that I went to the DZ and they had sold all their rental gear and bought some old decrepid pieces of junk. I jumped one anyway and ended up with a bag lock mal. I cutaway and pulled silver. Landed just fine, right in front of the hangar. The DZO was really pissed off at me for some reason and told me to "Pack the goddamn reserve up", even though I had never even seen a reserve before that. So I pack it up as best I can. I put the rig on the rack and go inside. A half hour later I hear this sickening thud outside, I run out there and a chick had PC in tow with both her main and reserve. That was the reserve I had just packed up. And it turned out that the chick was my girlfriend who had decided to take up skydiving as a suprise to me. Michele 1 #7 September 23, 2003 I remember a question one of my JMs asked me somewhere around level 6..."Have you had the "bounce" dream yet?" My answer was (and still is) "no...they always get something out before they hit". Seems that the "bounce" dream is fairly common, if my instructors were asking me about it. I dream about skydiving, and yes, they are recurrent themes...generally standing on the ground watching someone struggle to get something out, and then voila, it comes out right before they hit. They land safely and walk away. The other skydiving dream I've had is about landing in weird areas...the enclosed mall, for example, or inside a hangar with an opening about 100 feet up in the side where we are supposed to enter. Those dreams are where I say, no, I'm not ready to try that yet.... Again, I think it's really common, and not much to worry about. This is a stressful sport, and it's normal to have that manifest in dreams. She's 26, blonde, fit (used to be top league soccer player), 3 months left til she's a medical doctor, a skydiver and has lots of money. It'll set ya back something awful, but see it as an investment. She's not an 'interweb computer person' fortunately, which is why I am able to make this offer here in safety. I actually have a recurring dream of burning in and then I either get right up with not a scratch and walk into the hanger and no one even seemed to notice that I burned in, but they do notice how fast I seemed to have packed. Or I go in it is dark like two seconds then I am back in the air again, but the ground never gets close to me and all the hundrends of other skydivers that are somehow all in the air with me as well, when I have never seen them before.
