Bitter Good, Yet not Good News to not Jumping this Past Weekend

Recommended Posts

I drive an Acura Integra GSR. It's not the fastest, but it is pretty fast, and the engine loves to rev. I like driving it. B| Strolling out to my car this morning. Get in, start up and on my way. Flip the turn signal to the right, get the fast blink, "Light is burned out" I think. A couple intersections later, flip the turn signal to the left, get the fast blink. "Hmm, that's way odd." I think as I turn onto a faster road, wind it up in second gear and I don't hear the familiar sucking-whistle of my AEM Cold Ram Air, yet the car is scooting along at a good clip -- better than I remember just the day before. Get to the office and investigate the turn signal problem.

I park, turn on a turn signal and get out and look to the front. Well, not only are the turn signals not burned out, but there are no turn signals at all. None. The entire unit is missing on each side.:S I have two holes below my head lights and I see why my cold air isn't whistling, because it has a wide opening in front of the K&N filter welcoming all the air in the world.

Super. I can't see the wire harness, but I'm sure I saw a clip/plug so I'm thinking the damage isn't too bad. I swing by one dealer, the parts guy checks out what needs to be done. He says that the entire wire harness needs to be replaced, in addition to the hardware components. Rough estimate, $1000 plus labor all told. >:( Bullsh*t I say, walk out. Go to another dealer. Parts guy checks it out with me we see that the wires were in fact cut. He says, "That's actually better, because we can splice and make a new clip, without a whole new wire harness." His estimate, ~$300 plus labor. Refitting will be completed Friday.

I was pissed, but I really couldn't stay angry too long. I was talking with my sister, she was telling me about a string of Xenon headlight unit thefts in NYC off of Nissan Maximas. I have no problems...:S
So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh
Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright
'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life
Make light!

Dude, that sucks... I still am a little confused though how that story relates to the subject line of your post though...:S

Where's the bitter good?

I'm easily confused these days...:P

The bitter good is not having spent a couple hundred bucks jumping this weekend. With my new job, I've been a real miser, in case the commission schedule doesn't meet expectations. ;)

Call me a story topper if you like, and I don't mean to minimize your pain, but I might as well whine too.

My 98 Jetta went for drive last night, without me. Hasn't been seen since.

Oh well, my cousin had it, to sell it. A gal was coming to buy it at 4 today.

Oh yeah, no insurance, because I haven't been driving it. Oops. Oh well, at least I owned it free and clear.

Time to sell a couple more houses.
