Gawain 0 #1 September 24, 2003 Here in Orange County, California, we will be using a "Scan" ballot. I got my sample in the mail yesterday as well as the nearest polling place. The "Scan" ballot is a "fill-in-the-box" type vote, versus the "ACLU-Racist-Punch-card" and "Techno-weenie Touch Screen"... Anyway, I scanned it in two parts because it wouldn't stay legible as I combined the images...There's a Cigarette Retailer running for Gov... Vote "Yes" on the Recall, vote your conscience on Davis' replacement and vote "Yes" on Prop 54. I'm in the middle on Prop 53 so... So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! dterrick 0 #2 September 24, 2003 ...and you think that a 2 page scan is legible? TWO pages of names? That's nuts. Of course it's less nuts than the last Quebec sovreignty referendum where the question was so ambigiously worded and peppered with negative modifiers that practically nobody knew what the question really was! I would that your change in govenor makes a difference. I fear it won't (at this time) as the damage has been done. Might make you feel better though -Dave Life is very short and there's no time for fussing and fighting my friend (Lennon/McCartney)

TomAiello 26 #4 September 25, 2003 I got my absentee ballot today. I was thinking of selling the (six page) ballot on ebay.-- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com
dbattman 0 #5 September 25, 2003 Oh boy, that thing is a supreme court case waiting to happen. I can just see armies of lawyers looking through ballots for erasures and stray pencil marks. "Oh look- a little bit of pencil lead on the square. We think this voter INTENDED to vote for Bill the Cat, but voted for Jenny the Porno Queen instead." Of course, I'm in the state that elected a dead guy to congress (I think).
Gawain 0 #6 September 25, 2003 Not really, California has a uniform standard for vote counts, etc., unlike Florida. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! dbattman 0 #7 September 25, 2003 Thank goodness for that. I remember hearing all the stories from 'former volunteers' in the Florida recounts about standards changing again and again and little chads scattered everywhere.
