Sharman Networks Ltd., the company behind the Kazaa file-sharing software, filed a federal lawsuit Monday accusing the entertainment companies of using unauthorized versions of its software in their efforts to root out users. Entertainment companies have offered bogus versions of copyright works and sent online messages to users. Sharman said the companies used Kazaa Lite, an ad-less replica of its software, to get onto the network. The lawsuit also claims efforts to combat piracy on Kazaa violated terms for using the network. ... see the link for the rest of the articleWind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com

If you only get exposed to bands through the radio (and plan on buying CD's of these bands), you are more often than not setting yourself up with a one-hit wonder. There are a million good bands out there capable of making solid albums, and ironically, most of them aren't associated with the RIAA (or on the radio). For starters, try the new CD by The Mars Volta if you're ready for the most groundbreaking rock and roll since Pink Floyd. I'm 100% serious. These guys are no joke. And you can easily find the whole thing for download on Soulseek, which kills Kazaa, although it's been going through some problems lately... I hope it doesn't go down. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
 dbattman 0 #11 September 25, 2003 That's a good point. Some of the best CDs I've gotten we're from street bands that perform in the park or clubs and sell their disc for $10. If I'm not mistaken they sell all their CD's for $10 or so, and they sell T-shirts for dirt cheap too. Not to mention Bright Eyes and Cursive are two of the best indie rock bands in existence right now, if you're into that kind of music. If you want a one-song offering to test the waters, try "Art is Hard" by Cursive or "Method Acting" by Bright Eyes. As far as the cost of CD's go - at least one company has realized that $18 is way to much for 10 songs! I think Universal (now GE/NBC) is selling their stuff for $10._________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me....
