mixedup 0 #1 August 3, 2011 will need to consider getting an audible at some stage soon part A - any advice on whether there is an audible that could give you real time feedback on how well you are tracking? (thought I'd read about something like this in the past) Perhaps this would be too much of a distraction (i.e. re safety) however the concept is appealing/interesting... part B - if there isn't such a device, or if it's not recommended for novices, any advice re an audible/logger that would be useful in getting some sort of stats on how well one's tracking is going, but that you review after the dive? I'm assuming you'd need something that saves a continuous stream of data, not just give you the averages for the overall dive. Perhaps fall rate over time? Altitude & position over time would be ideal, but not sure if there are any such devices?Parachutist Game IOS Android YouT
bofh 0 #2 August 3, 2011 The AltiTrack (not an audible), the ProTrack and Neptune have computer interfaces and they log the altitude a couple of times per second so you can look at graphs in Paralog for example. There are probably a few more, look in the gear section. But I doubt you can learn much about your track from either of them since you want to know your forward speed as well. A GPS logger is a better tool for the job. The FlySight (http://flysight.ca/) GPS logger logs five times per second and you can connect ear-phones or a speaker to it that will beep your current speed or glide ratio for in air feedback. Read more about it in the wingsuit forum where there is a long thread about it. As for it being a distraction, yes it probably is at your jump numbers. It would be better to go track with some more experienced jumper that flies base for you. That way there is a lower chance that you'll track into/above someone else or miss the dropzone. sundevil777 102 #3 August 3, 2011 Perhaps the best way is to get some video of you tracking away. Poor technique is then easily diagnosed. Just apply the right technique and you'll do about the best you can do.People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am
