(KSDK) — Seven teenagers face serious legal problems in St. Peters for allegedly making and selling pornographic videotapes of a female classmate.

The investigation was started when two students at Fort Zumwalt South High School approached the school resource officer. They reported that a fellow student had a nude picture of a female student and was selling viewings.

The police department immediately notified the school. The investigation determined that a video tape, made at a home in St. Peters, depicts a nude 15-year-old girl. Officers say the girl agreed to strip for the boys and did it on two separate occasions.

Police say the students downloaded the video on to a high tech cell phone and brought that to school.

They then offered to sell those cell phone photos for $5 dollars or they offered a chance to see the whole tape for $10.

Police say the kids were all 15 years old and they were all students at Fort Zumwalt South.

Police say there is no evidence to suggest that any activity, other than displaying the photograph of the girl on a cell phone, occurred on school property.

St. Peters police recovered the video from the bedroom of one of the participant's where part of the filming occurred and determined that the 15-year-old girl agreed to participate in the video and referred her to juvenile court for follow-up.

Police say three of the boys have been referred to juvenile court on charges of promoting child pornography in the 1st degree, furnishing pornographic materials to a minor, and promoting a sexual performance by a child.

None of the boys involved took their clothes off.

St. Peters police say the investigation is continuing to determine the extent of the other three juvenile's involvement in the incident.

Instead of her whole school, the whole USA can then get the video from your local courthouse as it's evidence everyone can look into...I hope they don't make this video available for the girls sake..

Of course, I'm ignoring the fact that "age of consent" is 18 or 21yrs in the US. In the UK & most of Eurpoe it's significantly younger, typically 16yrs. As such, it's perhaps not all that shocking to Europeans.

One small thought - gotta admire the entrepreneurial spirit?
