Hey all you Arizona people

Recommended Posts

I'm so insanely jealous of all of you. I just got back from 5 glorious days in Tucson (I'm comparing it to heaven, it was that awesome).

The weather was clear (unlike Fresno, CA another 'desert like' area I frequently visit; and I say desert as compared to my Rhode Island), and warm - the layout of the city is so different than the northeast. I was so impressed by the entire city.

No lie, the 5 days I was there I could count the number of clouds in the sky on one hand! I tried to convince hubby to take me up to one of the 3 DZ in the area, but we were there to visit family and he was not too happy about that idea. It was all I could think about!

So now I'm working on getting him to try looking for work out there, because I step off the plane back in Providence and its raining - AGAIN. Sometimes I hate new england.... our longest winter in recent memory, our rain drenched spring, non-existant summer and now rainy start to fall....

So - to those of you in AZ - get out there and enjoy it! If not for yourself, do it for me ;)

Yeah being in Arizona rocks and haveing three drops zones all within a 45min drive. Actually there are four but I have yet to vist Marana...not sure if I will either. I don't worry too much about if the weather is going to be good to jump in...the most things I worry about here are #1 Dust devils...those suck, but they only show up for three months or so. #2 Haveing enough money...yeah we have 300+ jumping days a year and all, but I must say you will not find a rich skydiver here...why because we jump all the money we get...Like me for example. I take care of my kids first of course but after that it is all about jump tickets. If I see a nice new pair of jeans I want that are $60 I think, hmm that is 4 jump tickets... Well those jeans are still there at the mall if you want them.

Next time you're in Tucson, PM me and we'll come up with a drastic incredibly valid important reason to visit the dz. Only don't show up on one of the four or five days a year when we get rain or wind grounded.

The best time to visit and jump would be between say, Jan 1 and Dec 31. Two hundred jumps per year for an every other weekend jumper is the norm.

Blue skies.
