They felt tingling sensations, got headaches and felt nauseous," a spokeswoman for the Dutch Economics Ministry said. There was no negative impact from signals for current mobile networks. However, cognitive functions such as memory and response times were boosted by both 3G signals and the current signals, the study found. It said people became more alert when they were exposed to both. XMen...soon to be reality.

Gawain 0 #3 September 30, 2003 Good grief...If Verizon introduces 3XRTT on its incumbent network in San Diego, that's still at 800MHz right? WTF does the "3G" factor have to do with it? I'm with you Bill...here we go again...So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! VectorBoy 0 #4 September 30, 2003 Mobile Signals Can Cause Nausea, HeadacheQuote And my finger to flip up (sorry horn is broke) everytime some boob is driving and not paying as much attention to the road as their phone call. Are you implying that there's no basis for concern when holding a device that creates powerful magnetic fields up to your head? Did you read the study? It was a double blind study exposing the subjects to the waves they would receive from a 3G signal, an existing cellular signal, or nothing. It showed that the 3G signal caused headaches and nausea whereas existing cellular and nothing did not. Does anyone actually want a video phone? it's never worked with landlines, so why would people want them on their mobiles?Phoenix Fly - High performance wingsuits for skydiving and BASE Performance Designs - Simply brilliant canopies
 billvon 3,090 #8 September 30, 2003 >Are you implying that there's no basis for concern when holding a >device that creates powerful magnetic fields up to your head? Nope, just "here we go again." Every time there's a new technology, from AM radio to FM to AC transmission lines to cellphones, there's another scare. Power lines give you cancer. Cellphones give you brain tumors. Then it turns out that the power line study was faked, and there is no rise in cancers in the population of cellphone users. There may be basis for concern when people are exposed to powerful magnetic fields. But with the number of people who sleep with their heads inches from very cheap and leaky AC induction motors in alarm clocks, the number of people who work in labs with very high levels of EM radiation, and the number of people who willingly expose themselves to 1000 watts/meter of ionizing and nonionizing radiation every day (i.e. the sun) I have a feeling that a relatively low power spread spectrum signal will not even be visible against the noise.
