BrianM 1 #29 August 10, 2011 Quote Sure it does. If you put the pin in a 'frown' face, think about everything you lean up against with your rig on. The plane, the persons lap or leg behind you, etc. If it's facing down it's easier for it to be popped out than the 'smiley' face as the pressure would simply push up on it but not out with that orientation. That's the logic I've always heard, but I'm skeptical. Have you ever tried to push a curved pin out of the loop? Grab your rig and give it a try. I've never been able to do it. I've never even been able to move the pin through the loop even a little bit. Closing loops are flexible and can twist, so pushing on the end of the pin just makes the pin rotate."It's amazing what you can learn while you're not talking." - Skydivesg
stayhigh 2 #30 August 10, 2011 ummmm. that is the reason why the main pin cover flap is there??? again, test them out by pulling your bridal from the direction as it would pull it out on normal deployment. Closing pin will swing around and up towards the curved end, if the bridal is laying so flat against the rig and if the tip of the pin catches on the bridal it may lock it in or worse pierce it thru the bridal, as seen in Parachutist magazine couple month ago. my biggest question is "who the fuck invented smily face???"Bernie Sanders for President 2016
