getting chilly when the sun goes down now- (Vancouver, Canada) Nothing beats sitting around the fire at the d.z.- I can spend hours just watching the flames. Living in the city are not allowed to have a fire pit in our yards but have seen many designs of out door steel fire pits with mesh sides at local stores (so tempting to go ahead and get one!)

So funny a local station here at Xmas ran a fire place burning 24/7 and ratings were huge!! People sitting around a t.v. watching flames????

I have one of those metal outside fireplaces. I love it. Since the hummingbirds are gone, I sit outside and build the fire and watch the flames. It is amazing how long you can be "entertained" by a "controled" fire.

Not sure if I like the TV fire though. We have a ventless gas fireplace in the house but its just on the same as a real fire and I don't think I should make my smores on the gas fire place.
