kansasskydiver 0 #1 October 7, 2003 Well this is kinda weird. I knew the dates were around eachother but I just pulled out my logbook and looked at all the dates etc. First cutaway jump 17, line over. Oct 6th 2001 Oct 5th 2002 line over, cleared it from the end cell by popping the riser. didn't chop it Oct 6th 2003 spinning main after deployment, brakeline won't release from toggle didn't chop it... Anyone else kinda see what's going on here?!?!?!? Was this year a leap year, was the 6th really the 5th or something or WTF? I've heard of other people kinda having the same thing happen. if you are one of them, please post, i'm really confused about all this right now<--- See look, pink dolphins DO exist! Tonto 1 #11 October 7, 2003 Quotedamn dude! 17 cutaways!!!???!!! Yeah... What would you suggest? I ride them in to keep my numbers down? 7 from Tandem. (I don't own, pack or maintain the gear) 7 from Wraps or entanglements ( I spent years as a competition CReW dog) and 3 on high wing loading elipticals (out of 2600 dives on this type of gear tIt's the year of the Pig. wildblue 7 #12 October 7, 2003 Quotedamn dude! 17 cutaways!!!???!!! You do it long enough, they add up. I know someone with over 50 reserve rides (granted, a lot of those were test jumps, but still)it's like incest - you're substituting convenience for quality

Spy38W 0 #14 October 8, 2003 I get the same case of bad Juju every time I F%ck with my reserve.... #1 - Asked rigger to tighten Pop-top -Next Jump, blew up 2 end cells #2 - Borrowed gear, Fresh repack -PC in tow, I didn't pack it, and there wasn't a handy window to check if it was cocked #3 - Asked rigger to tighten Pop-top -Spinner from a quick dump after hummin it on my back #4 - Did the Capewell test -Birdman spinner. Honestly, I could have more than likely gotten out of it, but being my fourth birdman jump, I didn't want to play too long. #5 - Finally applied the sticker for the afore mentioned capewell test... -Spinner -- Hook high, flare on time
