ChasingBlueSky 0 #8 October 8, 2003 QuoteTrader. Dont call me next time your are looking for a job, i dont assist traders... My loyalty has always been with the White Sox since 1982 when I went to Comiskey Park for the first time (they played Detroit that day, that was the team Lemon was on). If I started cheering for the Cubs with the rest of the bandwagon/fairweather fans, then I would be a trader. I hold and keep my allegiances. Therefore, I cheer for two teams - the White Sox, and Whoever Plays The Cubs. SOUTH SIDE! (plus you don't get asked to pay $60 to park in the area). Oh yea, I'm a baseball fan. The Cubs are mostly a yuppie trend and Wrigley Field is just another bar to most people in that area. That mindset just annoys me as a sports fan and former sports caster. Still, the Marlins are a wild card team, and the odds are against them because of that. The Cubs have one of the better pitching staffs of the four teams left....they could easily go pitcher for pitcher against the Yankees...and a competition of the cursed teams (Cubs v BoSox) would be an amazing thing to watch. As a Sox fan, I'm worried the Cubs actually have a chance, therefore I'm cheering for the Marlins A LOT!_________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... FliegendeWolf 0 #9 October 8, 2003 I'd love the Sox/Cubs matchup. Especially if we get to beat the Yankees while we're at it!!A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All

Vallerina 2 #17 October 8, 2003 Geeze, Chris. Like I could shout out anyone's name that likes the Marlins! (Yes, I'm a yuppie who is only watching the game tonight so I can go to the cool local bars! I've always liked the Cubs better than the Sox, though...that has to count for something!)There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

And that is why I like that little team that choked on the South Side. Baseball fans go there, not yuppies. Plus you can afford to take your kids there and introduce them to the sport...not a bar._________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... Vallerina 2 #19 October 8, 2003 Uh oh! We're gonna debate on the better team! QuotePlus you can afford to take your kids there and introduce them to the sport...not a bar. I don't know. I went to many Cubs games as a youngster, and I didn't go to a bar to have fun at one. I like the "atmosphere" at a Cubs game rather than a Sox game. Plus, the south side smells QuoteBaseball fans go there, not yuppies. Baseball fans go to both, but you're right...more yuppies go to Wrigleyville than Comiskey. I guess if I was a baseball fan, I would feel the same as you. Unfortunately, I'm not. I prefer basketball! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

FallingILweenie 0 #21 October 8, 2003 I think Sox fans just have a complex because they spend all this time hating the Cubs whereas Cub fans simply just don't care about the Sox....actually, the rest of the country doesn't care about the White Sox.....i mean, all everyone talks about when they talk about long suffering teams are the Cubs and Red Sox but don't the White Sox actually have a longer dry spell than the BoSox? Personally I am a Cub fan but we are so starved for a title here that I would be pulling for the Sox if they were in the playoffs and the Cubs weren't.
