Dagny 0 #3 October 13, 2003 THANKS!!!!! Wow, I had just about the most perfect weekend EVER! Awesome thing #1 - GREAT weather at the DZ and a little extra cash turned into 7 fun jumps over two days. WOOHOO! I (FINALLY) got off radio for my landings! One small step for all of you...one giant step for me. Yay, I'm responsible for myself now! Oh, yes, AND I graduated AFF with a really sweet hop n' pop! But perhaps BEST OF ALL...I STOOD MY FIRST LANDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG, that was the greatest thing ever. It only took me seventeen jumps to stop sliding in on my belly and butt-planting. But, I DID IT! The jump was the last of today with some heavy clouds rolling in, so it was a 4500 ft H n' P. And after hearing many, many choruses of "God gave you legs and feet - USE them" and getting some invaluable advice from Skybytch and Sunnydee (FINISH the FLARE is now personal mantra ), I finally got to step back on to the ground at the end of a great canopy ride instead of plowing into it. The dives were all incredible. I was a front flipping out the plane, barrel rolling, backflipping, delta tracking skydiving fool and loved every second of it. My most memorable moments were free falling past a cloud, having a rather large bird fly past me while under canopy (Wow, I'm FLYING!), waving at every passing canopy with a big dopey grin on my face, and chasing my shadow along the ground. Oh, yes, and spending quality time with some of the greatest people I know doing the one thing I can't get enough of! It's a good feeling I've got tonight! And, yes, I owe BEER! (There's one debt I won't mind paying!) Lisa - Thanks for the continued support and enthusiasm! Denise - I wish you could have seen it, thanks for the landing advice! To everyone who encouraged me and stayed so positive - Thanks, you know who you are and you rock! Oh, and to the huge skybarge I've had to fly until I stood a landing - ADIOS, you big monster!! How can I possibly sleep tonight with this grin permanently etched on my face? Take me, I am the drug; take me, I am hallucinogenic. -Salvador Dali

Wish I would have seen that first - since I was privy to at least 3 or 4 of the "other kind of landings" Everyone has been SUPER to me as I've progressed and I've gathered lots of info (see my log book for proof - it's more of a journal) so if a little tidbit I shared gave you some light at the end of that jump - YOU ARE QUITE WELCOME! See you soon with one of those standup landings...next mission - GET YOUR OWN GEAR to avoid those damn rental costs! Play the lottery...a dollar and a dream! Lucky for me, my ex-fiance dumped me over the phone a few years ago and abandoned the diamond ring. At first I was mad about the whole thing, but now all I see is potential! How does it go?
