lawrocket 3 #1 October 14, 2003 Jeez, now L.A. has the buses and trains out of operation due to strike. So, those poor folks who need to take the bus to get groceries are up shit creek. I remember the bus strike in LA two or three years ago. As a communter, I found out it was actually great for traffic. Sure, the freeways sucked, but the traffic on the streets was great. I could head the 30 miles on the streets to get to work faster than I ever could on the freeways. Without the buses cutting people off and taking up a whole lane of street traffic along Figueroa, the streets flew!!! One month of steady surface street flow. Of course, now I am within walking distance of work in Fresno and it doesn't impact me. For all of you in LA trying to get around, take the streets.
