AggieDave 6 #1 October 14, 2003 I've got a test tomorrow, so I've been studying. What does that mean? I ended up writing a new song today. Well, let me quantify this. The guitar part was something that came out of a study-break/boredom riff, but the lyrics are for the most part a poem I wrote 5 or 6 years ago, now broken up a bit and some words changed, etc (the original poem was a sonnet). I've got to warn you, its very dark. The guitar part has a very simple chord progression, but it is played in a moderately fast bass-picking style, although the song its self is fairly slow. Its mostly Am and Em, but it has some Dm tossed in for good measure, with a couple of the Em's being strummed instead of picked. Anyways, I know that its almost impossible to explain music that way and I'm not going to take the time to write out the notes on a staff or even a tab...I'll play it for you in person sometime if you actually want to hear it. QuoteGazing reflection of hollow eyes stare Death's cloud, it's clinging to him The thoughts of death come closer closer to his brim The marbleized look of a dark despair Death's blood-soaked hands runs through his hair Bitter anger making his eyes grow dim Violent tendencies are compelling to him Realizing that fate's dreams are liars Embracing the bitter thought of death This boy travels on and on alone His will leaving life's well trotten path Fingers red with blood, hands worked to the bone His life's work falling off the master's lath His life now void traversing the unknown Shattered shards of his prior dreams Litter the floor of this boy's future Chasing a light falling farther away Gasping for breath as blood fills his lungs The dreams dreamt staring down Facing him, so close just out of reach Laughter, hysterical laughing laughing at his defeat The temperature drops as the dark figure comes close Dark cloak dragging the floor Looking forth into the faceless being Closer its eyes gaze The icy kiss is taken with release Limply falling to the floor The race with no finish Ended for this boy --David Lund --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
