If these were censored then why can I read about them on projectcensored.org ...no agenda there. :P Sonoma County...a mecca of clear thinking....not. The perspective is useful though.

Good topics for discussion, but the sources are lacking.

Man, I can't believe that they didn't report on the unfair treatment of the Roswell Aliens being held by the Government due to not filling out proper INS forms prior to entering our country.{insert big eye roll here}

More rhetoric by the conspiracy crew. Did I mention that the sky is falling? You best watch out:P

The Nobel was on the front page of Foxnews.com on Friday/Saturday, they carried the AP feed: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,99681,00.html I saw that and thought of you! *really!* :P

Sky:

You know, I dislike propoganda of any sort. Some of that is factual, such as the anti-civil liberties actions of the Patriot Act. These problems are also in headlines all over the place, and have been for months!

Some of the stories, like "#1: The Neoconservative Plan for Global Dominance" bear a striking resemblance to such de-bunked, yet commonly used diatribe, as the "Protocols of the Elders of Zion," which is used heavily by bigots in singling out Jews for hatred and animosity.

Not only was this stuff not censored, some is dangerous. Anyone educated knows about depleted uranium. Stories of the US involvement in Taliban Massacre sound like the "censored" stories of the Iraqi Information Minister.

Sigh...[:/]

O.K. Since it was awarded on the 10th of this month, it's off the front page...but here are the stories from
Fox dated 10/10/03
CNN dated 10/10/03.

Mabye the BBC is a few days behind? I watched several interviews on MSNBC about Shirin Ebadi and her history on friday...

I was simply pointing it out as an example of being under-reported.

Again, clearly other world news services think this deserves a bit more play, but most of the U.S. press has dropped it.

Well, you've shown us that one other world news service thinks it deserves more play. So what? Is it possible that we've reported it, givin it it's due, and moved on? I think so.

Dude, please edit your post, it takes up way too much space.

My substance remark was meant towards the faithful stewards of "projectcensored.org" who state all this censorship, yet cite examples of coverage in the Baltimore Sun, The Sunday Herald, LA Times ad infinitum. Their sources citing censorship are lacking. Some of their sources suck too... "Left Turn" and "Z Magazin" and "Imapct Press" .... :S

I suppose you could make an argument for either point of view depending on whether or not you think it's important to show IRAN as a peace loving nation OR the next and most likely target on the "Crusade".

BTW, I'm not particularly taking sides on THAT issue, but rather pointing out the possible motivations and differences between the two extremes in reportage.

Quade:

You may be right. Fox news doesn't have on it's front page that Chelsea tops the Premiership. Actually, that dirty, low down despicable Rupert Murdoch doesn't even have it on front page of Fox Sports.

But, bbc.co.uk does. Obviously, Fox Sports News is underreporting something that is of vast interest to the American public and the world as a whole.

Now, let's have Fox report more on the Queens Park Rangers... >:( No more of this over-reported baseball nonsense here in the US...

In this particular case? It -IS- news because she's being welcomed home as an agent of change for her country. For instance, she pushing to have political prisoners released. Ok, that might not sound like a hell of a lot to you, but a WOMAN in IRAN telling the government what it should do? A woman that just won the Nobel?

Trust me -- THAT'S news.

Are you really a QPR fan? I never knew they existed.

I think a fair bit of the BBC coverage stems from the old world service broadcasting to the Empire and the Colonies, therefore a world view is taken.
Fox did report the Nobel prizes as they are a newsworthy story (on Friday) it was merely an editorial decision that other news would be of more interest to its viewers on Tuesday. Seems fair to me and quite a bit different to undereporting a domestic story that would be of interest to the US electorate.

So anyway why is Nomar not batting in many runs in the ACLS?
