deronde 0 #1 October 15, 2003 Here in Sweden we have a tradition called 'caseing'. At certain point during your skydiving career you're supposed to get a case of beer which you share with fellow skydivers (first manual jump, A-cert, first 5-way , and lots more). Does this exist elsewhere?
catfishhunter 2 #2 October 15, 2003 Yep I owe 2 cases which I plan to take care if this weekend. But since I don't drink one will be rootbeer floats and the other Sharps ( Non-Alcoholic Beer) MAKE EVERY DAY COUNT Life is Short and we never know how long we are going to have. We must live life to the fullest EVERY DAY. Everything we do should have a greater purpose.
metalslug 36 #3 October 15, 2003 Beer is a common 'currency' at most dropzones the world over it seems.. to celebrate a first anything. Of course, no dropzone that I know of ever tries to strictly enforce this.. it's all done in voluntary fun. I still 'owe' beer for my first jump, first freefall jump, first solo jump, AFF completion and 'beer fines' for landing in the PRO-rated area of the dropzone twice. Butterflybabe 0 #4 October 15, 2003 Yep, that seems to be the price at most DZ's for the "first" of everything. At that, our DZ seems to look for any "first" to celebrate cause there always seems to be alot of beer after the final jump of the day goes up.
