The111 1 #1 October 16, 2003 So I was trying to get this Spectre 190 into my rental rig the other day... not fun. It was being a bitch when I tried to put it in the bag, so I was like, "get in there, bitch!" Then it squirted out and was all, "bitch? I saved your life 4 times today!" But I shoved it back in and said, "shut up, bitch!" Then I closed the bag. Disrespectful piece of shit... Am I the only who talks to my gear? I only do it when I get tired and really amped on adrenaline... maybe that's a sign I should stop jumping for the day. www.WingsuitPhotos.com
lazyfrog 0 #2 October 16, 2003 you can menace your canopy of being transformed in fashion jackets and shorts she just HAS to obey, and could even give you some help by folding on its own ---------- Fumer tue, péter pue ------------- ourson #10, Mosquito Uno, CBT
pa2themd 0 #3 October 16, 2003 I fly a ZP which is known for its "Breathing" in turbulent conditions, I usually curse her when she scars the shit outta me, telling her that I am gonna swap her for a hornet "Most of us can read the writing on the wall; we just assume it's addressed to someone else!" TequilaGirl 0 #8 October 16, 2003 I used to threaten to cut up my Sabre 150 and burn her in the middle of the landing area - when she was misbehaving.....
EricaH 0 #9 October 16, 2003 My spectre 190 doesn't often mis-behave. Typically, after another one of the 99.8% wonderful on-heading soft openings, I'm thanking her. But then on the landing area since she's so big, I'm tring to convince her that she does want to stay down on the ground - she's more flight hungry than I am! Then I'm trying to convince her that she really does want to fit in the bag. But instead of bitch or stupid or slapping; I'm carressing, soft talking & some would say manipulating. Convincing her that the sooner she goes in the bag the sooner she'll be in the air. But then again I talk to my car & rub/pat the dashboard/steering wheel & hood. Perhaps if I did the same to my running shoes, I would be able to run faster - perhaps? There is no can't. Only lack of knowledge or fear. Only you can fix your fear. ChileRelleno 0 #10 October 16, 2003 Your definitely not the only one who talks to their gear but your canopy talks back? That has to be stopped. Next thing you know it'll be walking all over you, every biotch needs to know her place and exactly what's expected of her! Discipline... Your biotch needs discipline. turtlespeed 226 #11 October 16, 2003 Quotedid ya try slapping it on the tail a few times while you were shoving it in....sometimes they like that If that doesn't work, just punch her in the nose a few times, she just needs to know her place.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun
Aviatrr 0 #12 October 17, 2003 I was mean to my Sabre2 last week....I packed her way too fast and cursed at her several times during the pack job.....and she spanked the hell outa me on the next opening! Be nice to your canopy. Mike
diablopilot 2 #13 October 17, 2003 I can relate. I used to swear at my openings. Not that they were bad or anything. Did it for a long time too. Never really noticed I was doing it untill I got my tandem rating. After doing my first jump w/ my evaluator (a friend of mine) I asked how he thought the jump went. He said "The jump was good, you're doing fine, nothing to worry about, just do 9 more like that and you'll be good to go." Then he added "You might want to stop the swearing" and smiled. I haven't since! It's weird to be under a deploying tandem canopy that's spinning up on you, and talk to your passenger without swearing, in a calm voice asking "Did you enjoy that?" while kicking out of line twists!---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
