I was afraid this would happen...

Recommended Posts

I've been at my new job for just over a month now. Part of my job involves talking to equipment manufacturers on the phone. This was also a part of my job with my previous employers.

Today I was leaving a voice mail for an employee at a manufacturer. At the end of a message I usually repeat my contact info, just in case they didn't catch it at the beginning. So I said "again, this is Lisa from *my previous employer's business name*....errrr.... I mean Lisa from *my current employer's business name*"

DOH! :$

I've so done that. I was an office manager at one DZ for five years. I haven't been working there for close to two years. A few weeks ago I'm at another DZ and helping behind the desk for a short time frame. The phone rings, and how do I answer it? Yeah, you got that right. And almost every jumper on the DZ heard me. At least Ralph has a good sense of humor and I'm still allowed to jump there.

BTW Lisa, did Olaf contact you? He said that he needed to talk with you.

Huh. You're the second person to ask me that question today.

I do need to talk to him... and no he hasn't called me yet.

There. That ought to thorougly confuse anyone reading this thread. ;)

hehehehe...

I've done the same kind of thing. I've been back at Citibank for 7 months now (time flies), but the other week I answered the phone "Sunrise Rigging, this is Heather." The person said, "I think I have the wrong number" and only then did I realize what I'd just said. :D

Of course, he had no clue who Sunrise Rigging is, so my mistake was a little less apparent than yours!

Old habits die hard! So, repeat "Lisa from The Drop Shop" 1000 times and do some push-ups too! ;)

Dude, I bet that person was flipped out! lol!

I have *almost* had the same problem before. But, instead ended up all duh, duh, pause, oh yea *light bulb in head* then said it correctly. I've been here 3 years now. I don't talk on the phone much, but i've even answered by cell phone "IT can I help you?" lol!

angela.

Well it sounds like he has been a bad boy and it's time to get out mass amounts of alcohol and make him drink with us on my visit.
