Sometimes I love being a girl

Recommended Posts

Today has kind of sucked at work so far; lots of politics, and my job description now includes getting involved :P

So I went shopping for lunch! :)
I no longer care who thinks they can assign work to my folks, or anything else here.

I have a new jeans jacket . I almost bought some earrings, too :)

There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)

What happened, you ran out of money?:P

Skydiving is easy. All you have to do is relax while plummetting at 120 mph from 10,000' with nothing but some nylon and webbing to save you.

I work for a government contractor; every time I want to spend something, I think about the poor taxpayer who's subsidizing me, and consider their taste.

Nothing appealed. :)

I'm glad to see that the taxpayers' dollar is being spent with such prejudice;)

Nope. I'm a first line manager :S. If you do real work, you're expected to hand off as much politics as possible to your manager.

You go back and buy those earings too:P

I used to feel guilty raising a family and actually purchasing something for "me." Even if it was something like a bottle of shampoo or bubblebath-
The point was it was "for me" - no one else in the family got to use it. Suppose I felt "I" was getting ripped off. Then skydiving filled me up to the brim with satisfaction/ so called "needs, wants and priorities" all changed.

I figure skydiving is "getting involved."

SMiles;)

Ok, you talked me into it... I am going shopping as soon as I leave work today. My only problem is that I will probably end up buying my kids or boyfriend something instead of something for me. I always feel bad when I buy something for me instead of the kids especially right here at Christmas time. Plus I am a temp at Dell and my contract ends soon and I don't have any leads on another job. It's ok though, I am ok with being unemployed thru the holidays. I will find a job soon after the first of the year...
Good for you on getting yourself some new stuff but YES go back and get the earrings too.

Um -- folks -- I love jewelry. I have an entire (and full) machinist's toolbox fitted out and devoted to it. Trust me, if I actually wanted the earrings, I'd've gotten them .

I didn't even have to leave the house to spend money today. Got a call from Mary at Square 3 today and I gave her my Credit Card number. I should be getting a nice little package in a few days.

Nothing exciting that a guy would want. Just some cute girly pants. Really it was an excuse for Mary and I to catch up.

Me too.

I love embarrassing my son when he's leaving for a date. He'll be standing at the door with friends and I say, "Remember, condoms break."

I did the guy equivalent - took the day off, ordered a DVD burner over the internet, and then flew my Mooney to the DZ. First jump was a tracking dive, 1m 30s freefall from 14.3, 86mph average speed.
