freeflir29 0 #1 October 17, 2003 I'm gonna need them. I go to court on Monday and I am realizing more and more each day what an IDIOT my current attorney is. I have only been waiting 5 years for this day and at this point I'm fairly sure I'm screwed. See.....my attorney "forgot" to mention that I had to provide copies of EVERY single document that I plan on presenting to the court in advance to the opposition. Her assistant called me today around 430 PM (I had been driving for 9 hours and I was still 2-3 from home) and asked if I could fax her copies of the documents. I said "Sure.....I'll do what I can." Not thinking about the fact that, just a guess as I look over my shoulder at the stack, there are probably 1000 pages and 10 photos that I wanted to introduce. Is it illegal to lynch lawyers and or ex-wives? (Joking....only joking) So....give me some humor.....I have to hold my temper. Not sure how I'm going to accomplish that. I'm going to have to take that job in Iraq just so I can go "legally" shoot some people and get out my frustrations.

dove 0 #4 October 17, 2003 Sending you vibes (I have the tools to do that!) and hugs. I know you've been waiting for this for what seems like an eternity (I know the feeling!) but lawyers are postponing trials all the time for this very reason. And sometimes you don't have to wait that long - just 2 weeks or so. Any chance you could do that so you come as prepared as possible? I don't know any of the circumstances of your case (who is filing, what grounds, who's asking for what) but most divorce judges have seen it all and can tell when someone is lying. So if she's asking for shit she doesn't deserve or lying about something, the judge will probably see right through it. Good luck. Fall in dove. wmw999 2,584 #7 October 17, 2003 Sounds like you need the extra deluxe ones. Rich divorce lawyers make their money off keeping people as pissed off at each other as possible. Good ones make it through volume instead -- people who came off easy will refer their lawyers (anyone need a reference in Houston, mine was very biddable). So here are some mega-extra-deluxe vibes! freeflir29 0 #8 October 17, 2003 Nope....been divorced for 6+ years now. No divorce lawyer. I'm trying to get custody of my son. The way the courts are today it's looking like the only way I could do that is a shotgun and fast airplane. Oh well....I have to work tomorrow. Let me go lay in bed and get no sleep cause I'm pissed off. Hope the terrorists take a day off tomorrow. Somehow I don't think my mind will be on work. wmw999 2,584 #9 October 17, 2003 I thought divorce lawyers handled custody -- I knew the divorce part was over. That so totally sucks. happythoughts 0 #21 October 17, 2003 ((vibes)) My feelings on the subject of divorce/custody proceedings fairness are well documented. The best way is to appeal to the best interest of the attorney. Explain that you are prepared for an expensive legal battle. Explain that after the battle, she will not be able to pay him. He should work with your attorney for a more amenable ending. Remember that any work that her attorney does is billable. Try and generate requests for documents that the attorney holds. The office will respond to you and bill her. Know what you throw a drowning divorce lawyer? His partner.
