Heya all,

The new log in application is live! Let me know if you find anything quirky. In the meantime, a few comments:

Dropzone.com Account

• This is what you create when you sign up.


• It holds the minimum information.


• Information in your account is private and not accessible by other users.


• This is where you change and update your password.


• The email address in your account is where all notices and subscriptions from Dropzone.com will be sent. It has to be valid and is not visible to anyone.


• You probably won't have to change your account information often once you've created it


• You can get here by clicking on myDZ or login on any page

Your Skydiving Profile

• This was the old "Forum Profile"


• It has been merged with your old "Full Profile" - we migrated all the information over


• The email address in your profile will be visible to users in the forums. It does not have to be a valid email address.


• You may want to update this more often as it holds your skydiving information.


• To view a person's profile just click on his/her username in the forums.


• You can find it by clicking on "Edit Profile" in the forums and then on "User Profile"

it seems to have loaded profiles that are not quite up to date. Loaded mine with less jumps and a bit different profile (one I had about 2 weeks ago). Just a note you might want to check your profile to make sure its up to date. Blue skies.

THe DZ Account "required" email section seems to be spam-proofing my email address. Is this by design?

I like it, but it seems contrary to it being 'required', and as you previously mentioned, valid.

I used to be able to take bites of my eggs while I waited to go from one thread to another. Now it's so quick, I can't chew fast enough to keep up. Sigh....now I have to change my whole morning routine.

The changes look great. I might actually get more work done now that it's faster and I don't have to take so long to moderate the forums. My dad's gonna love you!

I did notice too, that there is no longer an option for a homepage in the user profiles.

Was it overlooked or is it just a bug for now ?

This is true. Some profiles were migrated a while ago and not done again last night. Just check and update your info.

Andy, I'm not sure I understand what you mean with "spam-proofing" your email address. The scripts does nothing to your address. It will however send you another validation email when you change your email address to confirm the new address is a valid one.

Until you click on the link in the new validation email it will continue to display your old address. It will only change once it's confirmed that the new one works.

Hey - tell me a bit more... do you have to log in twice all the time? Try to Log Out and log back into the new system. let me know if it requires you to log in twice again...

I suspect this is carry-over from the old log in application. I think it wil iron itself out.

yes, every time, and today, i tried minium 9 times (it's still sunday in my country, so had time to try as often as i wanted from my private pc) and always have to log in twice: the old page, whichi know, and after that, the new log-in face.. have to log-in again, its working.... but its double loggin-in, why that?? wld be great if log-in is easier... thks, christel

Umm.. then click on that "tiny clicky" till I get around to adding a login box that validates your log in or not status the way I want.

Regardless.... if you try to do anything on the site that requires you to log in you will be taken to the log in screen automatically.

As I said, I'll get to the "nice-to-have" features later.

I don't think you have to log in twice. I think the problem was that the login box you used to see was still validating against the old DB (cookies) to see whether you were logged in or not. So, it kept on appearing.

Please log out, log back in and tell me exactly what you see. I can not reproduce this "error" over here so I can not fix it.

What are the "2 steps" you are talking about?

Does anyone else have this problem? I can not recreate it and therefor don't know what to fix...
