Muenkel 0 #1 October 16, 2003 Hey folks, As some of you know, I took a tumble down a flight of stairs on Aug. 16th. I landed head first on a porcelain tile floor with a concrete base. My initial diagnosis was Post Concussive Syndrome. I have been recovering, but slower than anticipated. This past Sunday, I had a setback. I woke up with a violent headache and noticed the pupils in my eyes were two different sizes. My vision had not been good since the accident. In fact it went from 20/20 to 20/90. I called my doc and he referred me to the ER. I had my 3rd CT Scan which fortunately came back negative. Meanwhile the pupils remain uneven. I consulted with a neurosurgeon at Yale-New Haven University Hospital (a family friend) who then consulted with the chief of Neurology. They are extremely suspicious of trauma to my optic nerve and/or my carotid artery. So Monday, I go in for an MRI and possibly an angiogram. It was supposed to be a 2 month recovery, but now they won't even speculate. These past two months have been hell, but I am really trying to have some patience and keep a positive attitude. It could have been much worse. So, if you could send some good vibes or prayers my way, I would truly appreciate it.
