Plants such as this are also great for cogeneration i.e. using the spent steam as space heat.

I like this idea. Heard something about it a while back. Any news on the Integral Fast Reactor these days or is it dead for good? I haven't been keeping track.

There are a dozen new designs I can think of that are out there. None of them are showing many signs of life - other than, perhaps, the PBMR, which is being developed in a pilot plant in South Africa.

Lot's of talk about reviving isotope power sources for spacecraft these days. Using GPHB's as a heat source for Stirling Engines.

I like nuke power as a general rule of thumb, but think it's been mismanaged. One of Reagan's dark spots. One of Carter's worst moves too, I think, but hindsight is bliss.
