Viking 0 #6 October 22, 2003 ok well do you care about the media only holding 30 mins at a shot and the camera being HUGE compared to other models? and don't even get me started on that battery life crap. Your better off with a high end Mini DV camera.I swear you must have footprints on the back of your helmet - chicagoskydiver My God has a bigger dick than your god -George Carlin
PhreeZone 20 #7 October 22, 2003 It'll also skip if you are in a funnel, if you have a collision, if you hit your helmet on exit, and the format is basically junk at this point. You still have to edit it to make it look good on DVD.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

champu 1 #9 October 22, 2003 Quotewhy not? it uses small dvds...it's a headache waiting to happen, and I see it as a novelty item that belongs in an issue of sharper image, not on the side of a helmet. you really don't want to deal with all those damn dvds, record to miniDV tape->dump to computer->repeat
leroydb 0 #10 October 22, 2003 i wouldnt dump to dv tape... jsut traight to my computer... thats where i do all of my editing...Leroy ..I knew I was an unwanted baby when I saw my bath toys were a toaster and a radio...
champu 1 #11 October 22, 2003 sorry, what I meant was to suggest it's a lot easier to use the DV tape to record, dump the footage to your computer, and reuse the tape than it is to end up with a whole bunch of mini-dvds with bits of footage and errors all over the place The point of the dvd camera is for people to shoot a video, do transitions and things like that as they go along, and end up with a dvd they can watch in a dvd player without any post-production. For shooting video in chunks that will require quite a bit of editing to get a finished product, miniDV makes a lot more sense. Besides, battery-life and size alone should be enough to stay away from the dvd models
